eBay complaints

I was browsing eBay and came across this "reasonably priced" Sleep Convoy.

http://cgi.ebay.ca/Transformers-Mast...ht_1756wt_1139

I guess the guy didn't do the conversion properly.

Re: Must be made of Platinum...

He probably put in a price of 5500 and thought it was Yen.

Wow, who in their right mind would pay that much for a KO Transformer?, "Mint In Card" not withstanding, LOL!

Nullray 01-23-2011 12:35 PM

Re: EBay laughs yet again!!!!!

Re: Another Fabulous Ebay Seller!!!!

I am not liking how these post of Ebay and Kijiji "finds" are constantly labeled as "idiots," some of these people could be board members, or I might find myself refraining to post my own items online for fear that this board was going out of its way to insult me.

Blitzkrieg 01-23-2011 03:20 PM

Re: Another Fabulous Ebay Seller!!!!

Well I guess "idiot" is a strong word and I should have used a more friendly term, but come on. A beat up prowl, just because it's a black version?. I just don't want to see people getting ripped off is all.

Your perception of value may be different that someone else.

shockwing 01-23-2011 03:49 PM

Re: Another Fabulous Ebay Seller!!!!

when I first opened the link I read it as "black mexican on the prowl", then when I saw the picture of prowl I figured. $150 is to much may be $50, not sure not a G1 buyer

wheeljaxx 01-23-2011 03:51 PM

Re: Another Fabulous Ebay Seller!!!!

starting bid seems about right to me for that piece. a bit high, but will no doubt still get bids. The BIN is indeed high however without the box.

if i was still in my hayday, i'd bid on that

Re: Another Fabulous Ebay Seller!!!!

I think people should just grow up and leave others alone. If you don't like it, move on. Find something better to do with your time than rove around ebay finding "outrageous" auctions.

Deemar 01-23-2011 04:20 PM

What's non PC about it? Why is he an idiot?

Malwave 01-23-2011 04:32 PM

I wrote to him

Dear kreatobergas,

hi,
why is the fake transformers so expensive, the real one is only $150 to $250 in box....I have seen that one before at a flea market for dollar store prices , How rare is it?

He wrote back

Hello, you should have bought it when you could.... sometimes the knock offs are more rare than the original ones, thus more expensive, your offer whas declined as you can see.

thanks a lot for your interest

- kreatobergas

I made no offer, the guy is either nuts or a crook, lol.

I don't think it was posted before. Some people just get their panties in a bunch when people point out the con jobs that eBay sellers often try to pull with Transformers.

Re: Another Fabulous Ebay Seller!!!!

I guess I made a snap judgement, I gave it some thought and he is just describing that the figure is from Mexico. Like I said, idiot is a strong word, but again like I said 300.00 Buy it Now price?, for a beat up, used figure, not with any accessories, no box, no nothing. Just because it's a black version?

it's actually COMPLETE. i'm debating hard over bidding on this now. the dirt seems to be on the paint, so will clean up very easy.

in this condition, and complete, i'm surprised it has no bids yet.

Why doesn't it have a rubsign?

Well, the Prowl sold in MExico is a super rare variant. The price he is asking for is not totally out there.

Check out miasboytoy, he just got one a week or so ago. Maybe you can ask him what he paid for his. I also think it's not a bad price as it is really rare.

Might be a good idea to file a claim sooner rather than later. Just to protect yourself. If the item does come in, you can always cancel the claim. If they have anything on the auction saying their typical ship time (usually 2-5 business days), you should have a valid enough reason to file the claim if they took 3+ weeks to ship.

Everything(well almost) exists pre-rubsign from the Diaclone/Microman toy lines that Hasbro gobbled up to make Transformers.

I assume this Mexican Prowl would fall into that sort of category.

I marked the dates on the calendar so I don't lose track, that way if I don't see anything the week before I plan to look into getting the claim for myself.

They didn't even email me back, I just got a auto notice from Ebay telling me my item was marked as shipped.. The day I email to ask about it.

I re-read their feedback again, thinking I must have missed something when I bid. They had one negative and 5 neutrals. 99.4% positive.. Maybe it slipped through the cracks..

Im pretty new to Ebay. I had an account forever but almost never used it. Just since Nov. now have I got back to it and am learning my way about it. But might be my first time with the claims with Ebay and Paypal.

AFA would grade anything if you'll pay them for it.

He has that done with all his auctions.

When I read these just bizarre item descriptions I just have to wonder if they aren't typed up by a room full of monkeys or something..
