^ They are like Marvel Legends or GI Joe Classified. Clearly stated on the front that they do not transform.
Since Soundwave is 501099372901
501099372900 and 501099372902 are OP and Megs.

Damn, $40? That's way overpriced if they're in line with Marvel Legends. C'mon Hasbro...

The original post,or rather one of the posts from Calgary said $29.99. Makes more sense keeping it within the Marvel Legends price point at any rate.

$40? US MSRP is $20USD, so it seems like Walmart is really trying to swindle us.

Not sure where the $40 is coming from. They were only $30.

Yikes. You'd think these would make up for a lack of transformation by having better articulation, but nope. As long as you want something that just stands there and looks G1, well, go for it.

Even at $30, these look pretty disappointing.

These actually look *worse* than their promotional photos. And I thought their sculpts already looked pretty bad (and strangely soft) in those pics.
Rename this line to C.R.A.P. and maybe I'll buy it at the dollar store in 2022.

Picked up a sound wave.
These things are junk.
No better articulation that standard figures....
Couldn't even get my sw to pose pressing his eject button properly.
I've been feeling silly overpaying for tfs lately. This was the icing on that cake.

For 30 they should have a better sculpt and paint than a deluxe figure and not even close. Sure more accessories. Meh

Soundwave can't even hold his gun.
Literally neither of the 2 hands included can hold it.
These figures are garbage.

I hope Hasbro can use this line to make an Alpha Trion and/or an Autobot Spike since neither transform.

Re: Transformers R.E.D. (Robot Enhanced Design) Wave 1 released in Canada
I wasn't even close to being interested in purchasing any as to me, a Transformer should transform, BUT I was still curious as why not, not for me but still, I wanted to see how they were and how people like them.
For the pricing, I'm stumped... I just looked at a few video reviews and I'm impressed with Hasbro.
They are managing to sell such terrible quality stuff at such a price and people are buying them... not one reviewer had a figure that wasn't warped, that didn't have a lot of loose joints, and none gave me any good vibe towards the plastic type.
For those that do like them, all my best, but wow, for me it's a massive pass. They remind me of the non-transforming rubber/foam-like figures (I forget the line's name) from a few years ago that even at around 10$ was way overpriced to me.

Re: Transformers R.E.D. (Robot Enhanced Design) Wave 1 released in Canada
They're on the Wal-Mart website now, "Online Only" for the time being. $29.97. Megatron is already "Almost sold out!"
I'm sad these aren't good, I was excited when I saw the leak that Prime Arcee (I want to repaint her into Flamewar) and Knockout were going to be made. Especially Knockout, I don't think a figure of him could look right in both modes without being a big annoyingly complex $200 mess so I'll quick happily settle for a $30 articulated figure to stand there and look handsome.

I'll wait for a sale to grab a Soundwave lol. I wanted these before, but I'd rather put $30 towards a Marvel Legends.

Re: Transformers R.E.D. (Robot Enhanced Design) Wave 1 released in Canada
I really wanted to like these as a lower-cost option to get animation-model style characters, especially when they don't necessarily have a good figure in recent lines.
but $30 for something that seems to be of extremely sketchy quality in addition to the crap distribution (I have yet to even see one in the wild)? Easy pass.

They couldn't even give Optimus a Matrix chamber. He's just got it sitting behind his windshield. Sure, Earthrise Optimus also doesn't have a Matrix chamber, but that figure transforms.

Re: Transformers R.E.D. (Robot Enhanced Design) Wave 1 released in Canada
Thanx for your input everyone on these figures. Gonna steer clear of these I think by the sounds of it. I too have not seen these in stores yet & I hunt quite often. I might check them out if I do find them but ya $30-40 for shampoo bottle articulation is not how I can justify spending my money on especially right now. I'd rather spend it on Studio Series, Earthrise, hockey cards or hot wheels. :)

Yes actually. MP-47, Hound.
Well, it wasn't that you couldn't transform him, it was more that transforming him ( especially more than once) usually meant you needed to buy a new one. :)
On another note, I sort of wondered why Takara never considered releasing a MP Jazz that didn't transform, since most collectors leave their figures in robot mode. Sure it wouldn't be ideal, but I bet for a MP Jazz, especially if they didn't milk the price on a non-transforming transformer, a lot of MP collectors would give it a look.
