Should I get Earthrise Seekers?
 

I see that Starscream looks good. But I've got the Deluxes and Leaders from years ago. I got the Voyager Tetra Jets from Siege because they're new. But Starscream ER mode isn't new. I'm on the fence ugh. And I also have the Legends+ ones. Not sure a voyager sized Jet mode is needed in my collection but something is holding me back!!!!! Which one would you get rid of to get the ER Seekers...? Are they even making Skywarp and Thunderracker?

I don't think you need to get rid of one thing in order to get another. I used to compare toys too, to decide which ones to ditch, and I found it added stress to the hobby, which is the opposite of why I'm here. I like that I've gotten better at appreciating an older toy since then, imperfections and all.

That being said, if you get rid of something, it should be the CW Leader Seekers. IMO they'll always be awkward jetfire retools, and just lack the spirit of what they are supposed to represent.

Well I can't speak for you but assuming we can get the 6 main seekers in this mold, I'm going in and classics will go. The Siege seekers I pretty much passed on except the Rainmakers

Rumor is the Coneheads will be in Earthrise, so at least that's something new.

Speaking for myself, I generally only keep the representation I like best for a character and re-home others if I replace them.

I think it depends on how well it fits with your other figures too. I have leader class sized Megatron and Soundwave, so the only option for me were the CW Seekers.

I only keep one copy of each character of the same scale. What I decided is to keep all available seekers from Siege line and buy others such as coneheads from Earthrise.

After seeing SS in person, aside all the reviews and images, I'm sticking to the Siege versions..


I'd only pick a ER SS for liquidation prices, he's simply over-hyped right now, as he really isn't all that great and a backward step from Siege.


Just saying.... I know some are loving it, but I went with an unbiaised frame of mind and find that it you make the pros and cons, he really is a "skip", as Hasbro could have seriously done a LOT better. Heck, the only "pro" is that he's a jet... (and the list of cons is huge: no landing gear, the empty wing bottoms, very blocky chest section, less articulation, proportion of legs and arms are off, head mold is weird, feet with the backwinglets, etc.).

That's a whole bunch of seekers. If money isnt an issue then just get Starscream, if it grows on you then get the new ones as they are released. Alternatively you may not like the figure in which case problem solved.

I'm sticking with my Deluxe Universe'08 version. If they'd updated the Earthrise version in other ways (such as having him transform into a more modern jet or giving him a sleeker robot mode) I might have bought it, but when it comes to the blocky '80s Seeker design I only need one.

ER has many of the design elements for Classics, so provided you like the bigger size/slightly weaker feeling plastic I would suggest ditch Classics.
