Any idea if Jazz will get MP treatment?
 

Is there some problem with getting the licence from Porche? Has there been any word about the likely hood of one?

Even a third party bot would be fine by me.

Doesn't Volkswagen own porsche? They made an MP bumblebee so they have the rights so it stands to reason that they will use Porsche

I think his turn will come soon. I'd love to see Devcon too he's one of the coolest autobot but he only appeared in one episode.

I think the bigger issue with him will be getting the rights to the Martini sponsor decals. Although they could misspell it like they did with the G1, Martinii. I bet if he does come out, it is a Takara only release under the name Agent Meister. I really hope they do make one, Jazz was my first "real" transformer as a kid.

It's only logical that Takara with make MPs from reusable molds first. The Sideswipe mold and the Prowl mold were easy to recreate. Many seem to think that from the Wheeljack mold, we'll eventually get sunstreaker.

Jazz'd mold would only lead to a Stepper recolour, not sure that would be super popular for sales.

Assuming I'm right, that would be one of the reasons Jazz doesn't have the MP treatment yet, because he is a popular character.

Jazz is coming. Smokescreen's shoulders are better suited to Jazz than Smokescreen. Also, as already pointed out, getting the VW rights is about 70% of the way to getting Porsche rights.

Also, there is G2 Jazz to repaints into.

Wheeljack should produce Sunstreaker, but also Tracks! They did all the '84 characters with Binaltech and to hear Hasui, he wants to do them all.

Given Takara / Hasbro obtained rights from the Volkswagen Group to create the Lamborghini Countach used for Sideswipe, the Volkswagen Beetle for Bumblebee, and even the Bugatti Veyron for Drift it's only common sense that they'd already have the rights to use Porsches brand for both Jazz and even Cliffjumper.

He better, but I am sure he will They wanted to make the entire G1 cast and Jazz is an important part. I'm still awaiting a Sunstreaker.

Yeah, of course they're going to do Jazz :) He's probably next, actually, for the cars, unless they wanted to do Ironhide or something.

Don't forget that in Revenge of the Fallen, Sideways was also an Audi R8. Lockdown in TF4 was a Lamborghini Aventador. Audi is also owned by VW group.

So I think the deal was being worked on for a long time.

Hell Porsches are pretty much squashed and elongated VW Beetles anyway. Patience, that's all we need guys.

While there is no proof, they do have access to the licence through Volkswagen. Which also opens the door for a Cliffjumper remold.

However, by those standards we also have the options of Sunstreaker (Lamborghini licence is still active), Trailbreaker, Hoist, Brawn, Outback,and Downshift (all Toyota products, official licence in place from FJ Prime)

Nothing concrete to date; everything that has been posted on this thread is pure speculation.

Obviously hope for the best; but be prepared for no announcement of mp jazz in 2015.

There are three variants of the Jazz mold: G1, G2 and Stepper. There is even a gold lucky draw/limited edition Diaclone variant. We will see a MP Jazz sooner or later :)

I hope they don't reuse Wheeljack mold for Sunstreaker. It deserves a new mold. There are Diaclone variants that TakaraTomy can reuse the mold: "red" and police cruiser. In fact, e-Hobby reused the G1 Sunstreaker mold to reissue the police crusier variant under the TF branding.

Im curious as to why we havent gotten any teasers from Takara for the next MP. Hell, Ultra Magnus and Bumblebee were announced more than a year away.....were's our "new" MP announcements. Am i being impatient:D? The next one is a decepticon leader tho, that much we know.

Coincidentally, certain popular autobot characters from prime (who were also part of the original G1 cast) got Mp's. That being Bumblebee, Wheeljack and Ultra Magnus. I wonder if the popularity from the show helps Mp choices. Pure speculation, but fun to think about.

Jazz is pretty important on the roaster in almost all Transformers materal, how Wheeljack got before him, heck how Sideswipe/Red Alert got before him is beyond me. Then again how we haven't had Sunstreaker yet makes no sense other then the fact Japan doesn't seem to give a crap about him as they do Red Alert.

Thanks everyone! Its true... aimless speculation helps no one... But I was mostly concerned about the ownership of the rights. From what I understand now it looks like Jazz is likely! Now when? Who knows. I did not expect Wheeljack before Jazz though, that's for sure.

I'd like to see Ratchet and Ironhide soon, since they already have the rights with Nissan, shouldn't be too hard.

Then onto Toyota, Give me Hoist and Trailbreaker.
