VERY MINOR SPOILERS

So I just started watching the show Supergirl.
In an early episode she fights a robot. And the army general in charge of it is played by that typecast fool Morshower from Bayformers.

Then in his 2nd episode, they say the word "transform".
Twice.

I'm sure the producers thought linking to Transformers would up their cool, but Bayformers?
And Morshower?

Talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel!

as Supergirl is DC, and Transformers are part of the Marvel universe, I would think that it's just a case of a similarity due to the actor.

Can't find any info about what the status on the licensing is between Marvel and Hasbro so maybe that's why no lawsuit has erupted, But as DC has an ongoing licensed with Mattel, I'd believe that they wouldn't overlap their franchises.

Since the Marvel run went from 84-91 and the UK run was 84-92, there shouldn't be a current licensing agreement between Hasbro and Marvel as Marvel currently has no need to get rights to the franchise.

And from those minor spoilers, it sounds like it would be a waste of Hasbro's lawyers attempting to sue as they can't prevent any one else from using the word transform or fighting robots,

It's hardly a copyright issue. It's more like a cheap homage.
