3D Printed Transformer weapons? Anyone know of a source?

Be kinda nice to not have to pay $50 bucks for a G1 Sandstorm gun :)

If you have a local library that offers 3D printing services you might be able to find some free weapon designs online. I have some links I will be able to post later.

repro.man on eBay makes nice replica G1 guns. Especially hard to find ones, like Bludgeon's tank cannon or Fangry's rifle. He doesn't have a Sandstorm gun, but you can message him and ask if he can make one. Prices are very cheap.

Check on Shapeways, there are alot of options, some sellers are quite keen on making several designs. Also Matrix Workshop and Nonnef are great.

Can high end (as in, we'll never own one for 20 years) 3D printers able to do translucent weapon effects an such? Even if the answer is yes I'm assuming that the price is stupidly expensive.

My only real gripe with consumer 3D printed stuff is that you get the completely impossible to miss layering lines. Now, maybe with the right kind of sandpaper, and paint, you'd be good to go. I've never tried as I don't own a 3D printer.

Consumer home SLA printers have come down to the $400 mark now. They can make some amazing nice prints. Then layers of the lines are so small they can hard to unless you look very closely. A lot of the resin for these printers is available in translucent.

Is there any file for the missile for Generations Metroplex? I picked one up recently but the guns don't have the missile and was hoping to 3D print two out. If anyone could create the file, I'd pay them for the finished product. Conversely anyone have two missiles for sale?

I second the suggestion of a local library, their printing services are cheap, and you can use something like Tinkercad to make your own files if want to design something.
