HasbroToyShop.com Finally Ships to Canada
1 Attachment(s)
Looks like Hasbro finally threw the switch, HasbroToyShop.com now ships to Canada! There are issues however, not everything on the site is available to Canadians, and shipping appears to be rather expensive. Read on for more info.
Our Thanks go out to Slythe for posting this news

HasbroToyShop.com Ships to Canada
Looks like www.Hasbrotoyshop.com now ships to Canada.
Let's see if anyone can actually order anything, and if it makes it across that long, scary border.

Re: HasbroToyShop.com Ships to Canada
So does that mean they'll charge us what the US is paying for these? or is it all Canadian prices?

Excellent. Now the only problem is whether my parents will be willing to use any of the listed payment methods...

Re: HasbroToyShop.com Ships to Canada
Went and checcked some rpices and filled in the survey. Every time you rate the websites service they ask how could that be improved or why would you not reccomend this website to someone, I answered "the cost of shiping to canada". I must have typed that 5 times.
And the one item I really wanted of course, is only available in the USA.

Re: HasbroToyShop.com Ships to Canada
Huh, I would have expected an actual, I don't know... announcement from them.
They should be excited that they now offer shipping to Canada....
Edit: With regards to shipping, $30 seems to be their base price, even an SE Deluxe figure ($15.99) costs $30 to ship.
However, if you go and order say, 5 Darth Vader crossover figures (the big death star ones) along with that, then shipping is only like, $50 for everything. So it's not so bad for larger orders. This might result in some group buy potential.

Re: HasbroToyShop.com Ships to Canada
Does anyone know how they ship in the US? They probably just using that shippers international service. And if its UPS or Fedex, the prices make sense.

Re: HasbroToyShop.com Ships to Canada
I believe in the US they get the choice of USPS or FedEx.
And the whole point of this 2 year delay in shipping was so they could get an deal with a shipping company in place. Using the same shipper's international service doesn't sound like much of a deal...

Re: HasbroToyShop.com Ships to Canada
What do they ship to Canada? I mean what figures from the available stock are only available for US customers? Please tell me it isn't the SE Figures, I'm thinking I might take advantage of this if I get enough income to score some of those figures including the stuff I can't find up here anymore.
Edit: By the way what kind of payment options are available for us? They won't accept Paypal from Canadians, what about Money Orders?

Re: HasbroToyShop.com Finally Ships to Canada
I was so looking forward to them shipping to Canada, looks to me that the shipping cost and the prices themselves are as much of a deterrent as hasbro NOT shipping to Canada. Anyhoo...I'm going to jersey next week to visits my wifes uncle and aunt. going to do alot of shopping at target, walmart and toys r us there....maybe jay and silent bobs secret stash as well.

Re: HasbroToyShop.com Finally Ships to Canada
I guess when they told us they would soon "ship" to Canada, in their minds they weren't so much thinking "ship" as "gouge."
I make that mistake all the time.

Re: HasbroToyShop.com Finally Ships to Canada
Funny thing is I was totally thinking this would help reduce the amount of times I get asked to bring stuff back...so much for that!
And why don't they just integrate with USPS...shipping to Canada doesn't have to be this mental...my guess is its mostly a handling charge to justify the forms they have to generate for customs....AND THAT MEANS: THAT WE WILL END UP GETTING CHARGED US AND CDN TAXES (20% TOTAL!) AS WELL AS THE SHIPPING.
I can see massive group buys during big sale periods being a possibility but for day to day stuff....forget it...I'll stick to the monthly border crossings and working with friends to get better deals...
my 2 cents

I don't care either way as I wouldn't use it regardless, all the more reason to buy it in Canada and avoid the hassle.

Re: HasbroToyShop.com Finally Ships to Canada
Shipping just seems to be around $30-$35. I had ten things in my cart last night (few deluxes, few voyagers, some robot heroes) and shipping was $35. When I only had two packs of robot heroes shipping was $31  I guess the more you get, the more you save.

So much for that then, my CC is null and void thanks to my bad habits.:( Stupid ruddy Hasbro, I guess I'd have better luck checking out what's in stock at BBTS and just ordering from there. Too bad though I would have really liked to score those SE Universe figures at very long last, not to mention the new SDCC Soundwave when he's put up.

Pepsi Jazz comes and goes from inventory. (GMFan, I've been told that if I bring Wild Cherry Pepsi up for you and SoundwaveCA at Polaris that you HAVE to share.)
How do taxes work on your side for ordering stuff online? Since sales tax differs from state to state, a lot of the time people are supposed to pay sales tax for online items when they file their yearly income tax forms (HA!). Do Canadians have to pay it upfront?

How are you guys even getting shipping quotes? All I get when I try to create an account is that they only ship to the 50 States.
