G1 Cassette Reissues Released in Canada
 

Thanks to reports from Chaingunsofdoom and Dessertdog we now know that the Walmart Exclusive G1 Cassette reissues have been released in Canada.

Initial sightings are coming in from Walmarts in Alberta. The sets are Rumble & Laserbeak and Frenzy & Ravage.

If it proves to be scarce and goes up in value then we’ll worth it. Starscream comes to mind. But if the overstock it like Hot Rod and Prime then $20 sounds pretty good.

It differs depending on the area. I did see tons of Starscreams but they all sold well enough at the normal price and now he sells for more on the aftermarket.

Just get the Encore G1 Starscream... same thing except for the US G1 like packaging

saw these at my local Walmart. 4 each on the peg, do they come in boxes of 8?

$70 after taxes for both sets isn't worth it for me, seems really excessive for reissues made of inferior plastic. I doubt they'll make it to a rollback but if they do I may pick them up.
They had a dozen or so at my local Walmart in Burlington.

I read they were 7$ in the U.S. I have no idea for here. It's not that bad really. A bit over priced maybe but I dig the look a lot.

Starting to get tired of the Walmarts in my area. I can reach two that have empty hooks for the cassettes, but their app says they have stock and the employee scanners say they haven't even sold any. I've gotten excuses from "there's tons of skids waiting for the new shelf formatting" to "they're lost in back somewhere". I did get one guy actually order another shipment which should be in next week, but fingers crossed.

I drove to 3 Walmarts in the Mississauga area that were showing stock for both cassettes and G1 Soundwave and came out empty that day. I turned to Ebay and even though I paid a little more than retail, I don't need to waste time and gas to keep looking for them - which works as a finder's fee.

StockTrack is saying they're not even being sold anymore... which I find concerning.

My cousin in New Brunswick use to go to Halifax all the time for Transformers back in the day because they have nothing in NB! Now-a-days they have many malls and Casinos in NB and he saw the Cassettes at Walmart but passed on them. He's kicking himself now because they are totally sold out in NB.

The G1 cassette pegs sat empty for the longest time at my WalMart (never even saw the tapes)... but are now fully stocked with “Bakugan” toys (even though the label says G1 tapes $29.99). Good work WalMart!
