Maketoys RE:Master Galaxy Meteor BREAKAGE WARNING!
 

Finally decided to pick mine up from my local A3U and the hip joint broke immediately. Saw on facebook that Maketoys is aware of the problem and are working on a solution, but for now be very careful if you got one.

Currently I have the peg super glued back on, but haven't put it together yet and doubt it will hold for long.


edit: Galaxy Meteor as in Galaxy Force/Cybertron (Unicron Trilogy) Starscream.

Thanks for the heads up. Kinda disappointed in Maketoys for not catching this problem sooner. Figure looks great though. A breathe of fresh air, the MP-11 mold was really stretched out by HasTak. Can’t wait to see their take on the Coneheads.

MT's facebook said to email them if you have the issue, which I did a few minutes before making the thread.

It seems to be wide spread enough, that I suspect free replacements will be available to A3U, Chimungmung, and other places when they figure out the fix, like what happened with RE:Master Iron Will and Cupola.

I am assuming though. Let's see what Maketoys says on the matter.

Just to be clear, you are referring to MTRM-10, for your pictures suggest this is the Galaxy Meteor, and not Meteor (or G1 Starscream).

You may be right Scowly, pictures do suggest the Cybertron version of SS. Only realized I had mixed up the figures after reading your post. Thought it was Howling Meteor, my mistake. But glad to know it wasn’t the Maketoys G1 version of Starscream, mine is incoming soon.

Yes, its the Cybertron/Galaxy Force Starscream. I didn't realize Maketoy's G1 inspired SS is called Meteor as well. Kinda confusing. I've edited the first post to point that out.

No surprise, the super glue wasn't strong enough, the hip joint remains broken. Emailed A3U if anything just to let them know this is a potential issue for anyone wanting to buy one.
