Awesome info, I'll be forwarding this to a few buddies of mine coming up by bus from the US.

Christ,no matter what direction I take,I have to end up in Toronto first in order to get to Meadowvale.I find this very conflicting in terms of time wasted on travelling, not to mention how my folks will feel if it's a necessity to get there by car.

Also, when checking the GO Website,I'd like to inform you that buses going to Square One (University of Guelph GO Bus/Highway 407 West GO only have schedules available Monday to Friday.

I'm not sure if the schedule will change in July, but I'm going to call to double check if weekend service will be available.Just thought I would let you know.

The fact that most GO routes run only Monday - Friday is why there was so much effort into finding other routes with other transit lines. I did not check the routes you mentioned due to the fact that many people are using either Union Station or the airport, and it is people from out-of-town that need assistance in travel directions when traveling to an unfamiliar area.
The list given is to help those in making their travel plans. It should be noted that figuring out transit routes so far in advance can be tricky. Some systems keep their schedules consistent all year round, only varying on weekdays and weekends/holidays (like TTC and Mississauga Transit). GO Transit is one that tends to have schedules running majority on only weekdays, due to majority of their passengers using the system for getting to/from work.
The GO routes I have posted do run on weekends, so there shouldn't be any problems.
The list will be updated as needed as the convention nears.

Alright.I was going through various routes last night to see which one reduces the most time (Ie.Newmarket GO Bus Terminal to VIVA Yonge to Finch Station, etc, etc.)but regardless of anything, the one way to reduce time for out-of-town folk like myself to get to TFCon is by driving there rather than taking transit (I do rely on the GO to get through any Con at Toronto,Anime North being an exception).

Either way,it's still far off from the Con,but thanks for informing me for any updates in the future. :)

For those people heading there on Friday (and staying at the hotel) rather than Saturday, there may be additional routes available to you (i.e. the Monday-Friday routes).

Yet another reason to get to TFcon on Friday and attend the fun events. :)

I asked the terminal workers at square 1, and they gave me this route to get to the hotel, not sure if this option will be better then the others however

they said to take the 9 or 10 bus to Meadowville Town Centre, then take the 42 Derry East to Argentra.

I'm thinking about resorting to that. It's easier for me to travel through transit on a Friday without stressing out if I'm going to miss out on anything or such.Still,I have to negotiate with the 'authorities' before seeing which route(s) to take.

This is ultimately the best way. Just call and ask. I'm sure this is one of the most direct routes to take, but with all my hunting, I was never able to find it.

But this is the point of the thread. I will help out where I can, hence why the thread exists, but it's better if the members help each other out, because sometimes knowing the routes first-hand is better than asking the people who work for the transit system.
