r.i.d. devastator
 

hi guys,just wanna share a oldie before he gets redone in the new year ala "pititevite/frenzy rumble" styled giant classics devastator.
these guys were done way back in 2001 when the buildteam first got released.they were also done before i had the benefit of going to sait to learn autobody,or more importantly...priming and base coating. lo and behold,in 2006 the universe line relesed these bots in almost the same color scheme in exclusive 2pacs.(though i still can't find them)
all paint used on these guys at the time was automotive "clearbased" enamel,which is another reason i have lots of color bleed through.the cool part is that this custom team is almost 8 years old and the paint's not chipping too bad.the bad part is i'll be stripping the enamel paint off when i redo these guys for version.2.

very nice ^^ The Build King mold is such a perfect one for Devastator xD....aside from the lack of two of the constructicons ^^;.

Yowza, these could use that redo, no offense.

Not to say they aren't largely well done - as all your customs are - but I can see the original colour still poking through the green paint, especially on Wedge.

We all start somewhere though, right?

Yeah, clearly looks like more of your earlier work, I am sure it will look a lot better after you get to it.

Mind you even now it loosk better then the official attempt at G1/G2 colored Constructicons.

none taken my friend;):)!heck, i'm just really amazed yet sad at how good the paint stuck on for that many years now:D

sometimes i find it cool to look back at older projects and to see how far you've come:cool:
