ROTF Optimus Prime & Jetfire - recommendation?
 

Hey guys!

Just wondering if anyone have ROTF Leader-class Optimus Prime + Jetfire? Do you guys like the combined mode between the 2 figures? I have the leader-class OP but I am not sure if I should spend $ on Jetfire just for the sake of getting them to combine...

Opinions are welcome! Thanks again for those that respond!

I have both combined on display, it's a pretty imposing combo! Jetfire just by himself is quite a sight, especially in jet mode.

For me, the combined mode is pretty underwhelming. It's big. It's heavy. It's one big brick that doesn't hold together all that well. It's kibble-tastic with a huge heavy backpack that puts a lot of junk in the trunk.

I have Jetfire, but I got the add on kit for it, because it looked better to me. Though the kit is poseable, it's not made with the most sturdy plastic, just above a model kit, and would not survive a tumble off a shelf intact. Not to mention it was expensive.

Bottom line, if you got things for cheap, it might be OK for you, but do not pay bank for it.

Otherwise, with the studio series coming out with Jetfire, you might get lucky and they might build in a combining gimmick for it to combine with an existing prime or one coming out in the future. But that's just pure speculation on my part.

There was a third party add on awhile back with the blackbird pieces to make the optimus/jetfire combination when combined with optimus, well worth taking a look at, I was happy with the results of this combination.

The FWI add-on showed up there is the best looking ROTF Prime + Jetfire you can find.

The new SS Jetfire can combine with the new retooled SS ROTF OP. May want to look into that before committing to anything.

Will think about it...I feel like the leader-class still looks better despite the "brickness" of the combined mode...

If you're willing to spend 3p money that new Perfect Effect Revival Jetpower Prime looks amazing too.
