What were your top figures of the year for 2019?
 

Felt like a pretty good year, despite how expensive it’s all become! I’ve had to quit MP level collecting but fortunately the Siege line at retail had some solid figures for me this past year.

My top 3:

#3 - Siege Ultra Magnus
#2 - Siege Omega Supreme
#1 - Siege Jetfire

I also have to give a big honorable mention to a figure that was new to me in 2019 but is from a couple year short ago: Unique Toys Peru Kill (AoE Lockdown).

Oooo - a top three list - ok, I'm in...

I'll actually agree with your top two - but I'll flip 'em around and I'll cheat a bit on #3:


#3) Refractor [the collective sum of the box set with three G1 colored singles]


- I expect people will think I'm nuts here, but I just like the look of them all together (box set in camera mode, others in bot mode)


#2) Siege Jetfire


- I was squarely in the "not going to bother / previous one was good enough" camp, but when Amazon dropped it to like $75 - I caved: and boy, was I glad I did: That thing is spectacular.


#1) Siege Omega


- It's not often I open up a purchase and am legitimately blown away and inadvertently gasp "WOW!", but Omega forced my hand... and also triggered me to re-work my "TF Room" to add in a new book shelf JUST to have a prominent place to put him. (Sorry I had to move you to the basement, Spider-Man cut out - but it had to be done! :) )

3. Siege Springer. He's fiddly and a pain to transform but I always come back to him. His helicopter mode works really well on a stand.

2. Siege Ultra Magnus. I just love the look and feel of him. He's bulky and imposing. Wish his cab to inner robot transformation wasn't so put-the-arms-behind-his-back, but the combined form is great.

1. Siege Sideswipe. Design wise, I think he's basically flawless. I wish all the other car Deluxes were as well designed. I really, really like the Prowl design, which I consider second place to the Sideswipe design, but wish they could've done something to cover the hollow back legs.

For favourites

1 - Omega
2 - tie with Shockwave and Ultra Magnus
3 - triple tie with seekers and Sideswide and Datsuns
4 - Springer (transformation awkward, but looks great in all modes)
5 - Astrotrain
6 - Reflektor set, the alternative modes are great (fan mode such as combined spaceship, etc.)

For best, when I judge them on their merits being:
articulation, quality, gaps (lack of), kibble, paint, accessories.

1 - Sideswipe
2 - Seekers (chest popping issue, and the smirk face that looks like Thundercracker had a stroke)
3 - Omega (clear claw, wings fall off)
4 - Ultra Magnus, loose connectors, shoulder accessories needed fixing to hold (grey piece wouldn't snap in)
5 - Jetfire (ranks low because of the horrible kibble in Jet mode's underbelly, so much internal space that had potential for the micromasters that was wasted)
7 - Spinister (that horrible gap for the tail section that is displayed in your face in robot mode)
8 - Optimus (awkward transformation, kibble)
