First and last time I ever did the Sun Run was 1997. "Trained" for a month with my buddy every Sunday afternoon. After a leisurely jog along the False Creek Sea Wall we'd reward ourselves with all you can eat pizza at the Flying Wedge by Vanier Park.
Needless to say on the day of the Run I was unprepared but I managed to make it in a little over an hour. I was so elated at the Finish Line that I didn't realize my sweat had turned my cotton t-shirt into a cheese grater that made both my nipples bleed.
So my recommendation to you brave souls who are running the Sun Run for the first time: cover your nipples with band aids or lots of Vaseline if you sweat as much as I do or taking showers will be a bitch until your nipples scab over
