out of your seekers i like thunder cracker the best.i also did the same beach comber redo but yours looks way better cause i didnt take the time to sand his joints down thus making the paint really east to come off.i really like the grandus idea too!!!!good work!(dangit,now cause of you im gonna be keepin a eye out for megazords!!lol!)

The little details on Bumblebee look awesome, they really make a big difference. Those are the things I would like to get around to doing, but never do. When you paint the little details do you just apply it right onto the plastic, or do you scuff it down first?

On Thundercracker I used nailpolish remover to get rid of the red from Starscream, problem was that made the plastic britle and dissolved glue so his right shoulder had to be reglued, the hinge on his lower back began to crack so I now try to avoid removing paint. If I do have to remove some I use rubbing alcohol now. Most of the time I just paint on top of the paint thats there or the plastic. It works perfectly when you are painting a darker colour over a lighter one. As for Bumblebee you could probably do the same using one of those silver pilot markers...

These are all hand painted BTW, I don't really like sparying paint...I usually just take apart what can easily do, IE ball joints, clips, etc. and take it from there. Thanks for all the feedback.

It works but you're better off removing the parts and putting them in an isopropyl bath for half an hour to an hour....it won't damage the plastic but the paint may will need to be rubbed off with a paper towel.

Thanks, oddly Grandus is currently the most "favourited" out of all of them by other DA members. Shocked the hell outta me considering he was so easy to do but I guess it's the obscurity of that character being redone. If that's what people like I got one (or 2 depending on if you count the second one I have in mind) more of those planned to come but I still need the molds for both and some paint for the first.

But the second I get my hands on another Universe Cyclonus or Silverbolt for a good price I can get crackin. Keeo watching I got a few more completed projects and WIPs to go up ;)

Gonna work on getting Thrust transforming properly tonight, in the mean time I just updated the page (http://gmfan101.deviantart.com/).

I took a break on painting the ice cream twins to share the fact that they actually have rust spots molded on to them and how easy it is to add yourself. Use the vehicle mode pics as paint maps if you want to give it a whirl.

Very nice stuff, GMfan! I did the same Beachcomber you did (but I also painted his right hand gold), so I guess great minds think alike.
I really love that Grandus custom! At first I thought it was going to be Raiden, but Grandus is a great idea.:)

p.s. what does STOVL mean? (I was confusing it with VTOL, sorry :o)

VTOL = vertical take off/landing
STOVL= short take off & vertical landing

Slightly different...both can land vertically, the STOVL requires a little distance before it can take off. Technically the harrier is a STOVL craft but is classified as a VTOL which is true if it's not fully loaded but when armed requires a short distance to take off due to the extra weight. Same applied for the F-35 (ROTF Breakaway) but at least that is classified as a STOVL craft...

Made for Mindy "artoni" based off of one of her original characters, Halberd. Fun project, glad I gave it a whirl as now I'm amped to try more customs...got one in mind using the same original mold for an obscure and often forgotten leader in the TF-verse

i noticed you got rid of the autobot symbol on his left collar bone (metal thing) not sure if it detracts from it, im on the fence whether or not to do that to mine.

If you're talking about Optimus I didn't remove it, just painted over it :P

He doesn't have an Autobot symbol there so I got rid of it, he has 2 on him, one on his front end in vehicle mode (top of the grill) and the other (though the same one transformation wise just not on this mold) is on his chest, in the gap between the windows.

Updated my DA (http://gmfan101.deviantart.com/) with another simple repaint. I realllly liked this mold but the colours were just awful, after much comparison to images I've hoarded from both movies I made some easy touch ups to improve this character. SOOO much nicer on the eyes now and only took a couple of hours from start to finish. Just need some Testors aluminum, flat black, white, and red. TRY IT! ;)

I did want to get 2 Acid Storms to eventually finish the rain makers, keeping the camo theme....just cover the green with yellow/blue for Sunstorm and Rain Storm

Classics Universe Barricade

Based on movie Barricade as this is clearly a Classics Universe version of the movie character Barricade and not his technicoloured G1 Micromaster F1 racer of the original namesake. Really like the character in the movie and design, so I thought I'd take a stab at making a Classics Universe version of him. Using Prowl as a base mold just made sense :P. Other then the paint and reprolabels stickers the siren and kickbar were taken from a junker movie Barricade and transplanted.

Probably... I don't think it would be that difficult to take that mold and remove the treads to make him have a gun mode. One could also easily take his G1 removable barrel and fit it to the energon mold's huge arm...

I'd do it myself but I got other ideas in the pipeline I'd rather tackle first. :P

Possible they had limitations...not saying thats for sure but I'm sure there's things they are not allowed to put in sets and for all we know this could be one of them. Thankfully we're not withheld by such things.

Hmmm kinda close (then again how much more different would one do a "Classics Barricade"?). Not a fan of that huge decepticon symbol on the hood. I like the subtle ones that he had in his emblem like in the movie that are seen in his alt mode, but I gave mine the extra one on his shoulder for robot mode so it can been seen there but not in alt mode.

Also don't like the lack of purple on the digibash. I was looking at CG pics of Barricade, and his deluxe toy to determine where to put it on this guy...dunno why he put purple on the horns though, only had silver on there. Not to mention the added kick bar and different siren that accentuates movie Barricade so well. All and all though its a good starting base.

I think I've seen a Starscream around done like that. Prime would be cool. and a silver sideswipe.

Actually, since movie characters are pretty much just stock vehicles, most of the movie repaints might be kind of boring :( I think this barricade would be the most interesting out of all of them
