The image provided shows off Hot Rod in both his robot and vehicle modes, as well as revealing that he does indeed come with a sword accessory as seen on the Legacy toyline artwork. According to the text he will take 8 steps to transform. We recommend taking this with a grain of salt until we receive official confirmation, but until then you can sound off with your first impressions on the boards!

Cool, but why a sword?
Better than a gun, at least. He used a sword against the training bot (albeit one with a different design) but he always used his arm-pipes instead of a gun, so it doesn't make much sense that so many Hot Rod toys come with one.


Of course, the accessory he should be coming with is a fishing rod.

It's based on the IDW Regeneration 1 comic book series which takes place after the Marvel G1 run. He uses a sword in one or two issues if I recall correctly.
