It looks alright, but there are a lot of visible screws in both bot mode and alt mode. Also those red pieces in the ankle joints are an odd choice (Why wouldn't they just use blue to match the legs?). Oh well, hopefully they fix some of these issues in the final version along with the price as well.

The new pics really show off MP44. I think he'll be worth the Japanese etailer price, to me at least. Everyone has their own priorities.

I think MP44 looks amazing, the accessories make the price worth it to me. I couldn't help but picture MP44 squared off against MP36 on my shelf while seeing Optimus set on the stand axe in hand. Wow.

Chunky backpack. Seriously, the whole torso is just one big cube as though the cab never transformed. Between that, the gappy knees when bent, some undesirable accessories with that ridiculous price. Easy pass still.

The chest windows aren't the same as the truck windows. There is some kind of wizardry or deception going on in the transformation.
I'll wait for the Chosen Prime to do their stop motion transformation video, and that will save me from paying the $500 to transform it myself.

I'm not a fan of the cartoon aesthetic the Masterpiece line has been using (since Ironhide or Inferno I think). While this captures that look superbly, that's not what I want at all. MP-10 looks so much better to me. Even if this wasn't priced through the roof, I wouldn't buy it.

The dodgiest part of every OP figure has always been the trailer hitch part at the back of the cab, it must be said; but this one is the worst yet. Zero attempt was made to hide the unfolded robot parts, no panels to smooth it out, nothing. Just a mess of blue and white parts that didn't have anywhere else to go.

The thing is, there may not much savings even if you could accept the price and even if you could preorder this from Japan at about 30% off MSRP, it will likely cost at least $100 to ship this due the big box and weight. And you are also very likely to have to pay a very high amount of import duty too.

If you preorder it from Amazon Japan, shipping won't cost much and import fees will also be small as well (similar to how much they charged for MP-43 BW Megatron). Too bad that doesn't really help with the price of the figure.

Ok, honestly looking at MP-44 and comparing him to MP-43 BW Megatron's price tag, I just don't understand where Takara is getting MP-44's price from. Megatron is massive in pictures, towering over both Primal and Dinobot, plus Megatron has electronics (LED's I think) and a few accessories to boot. Prime has the usual, plus a few extra like the Starscream parts and the jet pack. But does that justify 50,000¥? BW Megatron was only 25,000¥ when first announced. Doubling the price just seems like sheer greediness on their part.

Actually I just ordered the "Transformers Legendary Optimus Prime" from Amazon Japan. It's a really good looking repaint of Evasion mode Prime and, with shipping and import fees, was about $85.00 CAD.

I seriously doubt that. My Amazon Japan order came up to ¥36,339 with shipping and import fees (and that could also decrease from now until the release date). I'd also be careful with buying from Anime Export. I preordered a figure from them and tried to cancel the preorder well before the release date. They ignored my cancellation request for over a month and a half until I opened a Paypal case (then I got my money back). If you also Google them, you'll see that they have low ratings due to poor customer service. Just thought I would let you know before you let them have that much of your money ;)

I don't know guys. I think MP-10 looks better than this MP-44 version 3 from all these photos I seen so far especially the backpack area. However, the articulation on this seems better, but then again...which I don't care much, because I am already quite satisfy with the MP-10. I seriously feel nothing exciting about this release at all and probably don't want another Masterpiece Optimus in my collection, MP-01 and MP-10 is all I need right now unless if I see big improvement like from MP-01 to MP-10. This line probably ran out of idea of what to make, and it should be ended already(already got tired of this line after Megatron 2.0). Don't think I will dump 600 dollars on a figure like this one, not even 300 to be honest. So it is an easy pass for me. If it is going to pass on to Canada as Hasbro Exclusive and less than 200, I will consider.

Screw it, just canceled my AJ order for this guy. Gonna pre-order the Transform Element for the second batch. Can't bring myself to spend $500CDN on this nor would I be okay with myself knowing the opportunity cost with that money.
