I'm digging the look, especially Starscream but I am concerned about how this will fit into the the rest of the movies. I mean consistency never really held in the 5 films but this feels like a complete mis-fit into the overall stories... I dunno.

It's a new timeline. It's not meant to fit the previous movies.

Is that confirmed? The trailer quotes Bobby Bolivia from the first movie

Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner: "I don’t think it’s a reboot because it is an alternative; a different chronology."

Sort of a soft reboot. Which basically every Bay film was as well, just they never admitted it.

At least the robots look closer to their G1 counterparts.
I hope the robots don't morph like the last 3 movies and actually transform so the toys can kinda mimic the transformation.

I don't hate Bumblebee's design like I did from the original TF films. That's not saying much though. I still don't like the weird bionicle head he's got.

Actually Age of Extinction was the only one that had ones that didn't have proper Transformations. It was also only Galvatron, Stinger, and the KSI drones.

Dark of the Moon and The Last Knight were all standard transformations.
