In what is great news for our fellow Transformers in Canada as well as thousands of employees, two press releases today confirm that Toys R Us Canada is here to stay! I’m very excited to see how the stores change and evolve with this going into the future. I’m hoping new owners and the freedom to operate as a wholly Canadian business brings some great changes to how the stores operate, including stock, exclusives, and sales.

To be fair, if you were a toy distributor would you want to provide stock to a retailer that possibility could go bankrupt?

To be fair, if you were a toy distributor would you want to provide stock to a retailer that possibility could go bankrupt?
TRU Canada was the only TRU making any profit around the entire world. Those profits were also feeding the failing U.S. branches. If anything investing in TRU Canada makes a lot of sense. Why sell to just Walmart or maybe some EB Games when you can have a whole retailer devoted to just toys?!
If anything, this IS the time for manufactures to do more with ToysRUs being a Canadian only brand now.
