Not that much here, but the first real snowfall of the season.

My folks got over a foot of snow last week and they're getting another foot today... We only got 5-10 cm last night, and it's already melting because of the rain.

Yeah, it's nice. But I'm sure the novelty of it will wear off soon. i have to go to school shortly.

Yeah, snow two nights ago = traffic chaos for the next 4 months...

And a crowd outside the service part of Crappy Tire on Saturday morning, no doubt...

We got about 5 cm, nothing to major but super early compared to last year (after X-mas)

Funny but accurate! I couldn't believe the drivers that first night the snow was here. It was like they had never seen it before. Why does this happen every year (the drivers... not the snow)?

Say what you will about snow and traffic, it still beats the hell out of the horrible rain we've been having the past couple of weeks.

Funny, one of the manufacturers I deal with in Montreal was was giving me excuses this morning trying to make it sound like ten feet fell there..

So it snowed here overnight, not much but enough for my commute to work to last a joyful 1 1/2hrs...... Thought for a while that I was back in Toronto sitting on the 401 except I realized there were no a-holes driving down the shoulder/boulevard to beat traffic.

30 min just to get out of my community...WTF. Time to invest in a 4x4 to go through the farmers fields...

I wouldn't mind snow so much if the majority of people knew how to drive in it and the people paid to clean it off road didn't do such a half assed job...but hey lets go sledding!

Same freakin' story every year; it snows and people still drive like maniacs.

..thank goodness for whoever came up with those ergonomic snow shovels; makes snow shovelling less of a chore.

No offense, But do you have any clue how much work it takes to have the roads cleared? As will as deal with all the morons that want to get in the way ????

Snowfalls are always funny in the Vancouver; they get an inch of snow and they all rush like crazy to Canadian Tire to buy an army of high-end shovels and salt bags. :)

(And I won't even talk about the driving over there... :P)

I never said it was easy, I said the ones that do the side streets in my part of Mississauga usually just piles it infront of my driveway overnight, then it freezes, and in the morning I have to break down 2-3 feet of fresh ice....that or ram it with my Safari :P

That you would have to take up with the city, Side streets that are not "vital" only get a quick scrape and no salt. That's orders from the "Higher ups"
You can't fault the driver for doing what he's told. Blame your city counsel for that great idea.
I do feel your pain. I use to rent a house and my street rarely got plowed, I use to swiing by my street with my plow truck and clear it myself.

Nevermind... I'd kill for a blizzard on or about Monday to get a few days off work. Don't think I've missed a day due to snow since 99...

That's the thing... people are driving with summer tires or bald tires shouldn't be allow on the street in winter. Instead of buying all wheel drive/4x4 SUVs, trucks, etc. a good set of winter tires are what most people really need to get around safely.

A lot of the snow subliminated (sp?) (or evaporated) lately in Toronto.

Those sidewalk mountains are still high and numerous though, some streets are much more narrower and bypassing a slower car is that much more harder now!
