Overall the episode was okay, just having to deal with all these different threads, but the reveal of the new characters was the best part (spoilers: Shockwave, Ultra Magnus).

For some reason I thought two or three episodes were being shown in a row as a "movie event" or something.
Anyway, it was a pretty decent episode in all, looking forward to episode 54!

It was a nice little touch that Megatron didn't have both his arms until later on in the episode. Logically he shouldn't have, and it's nice that the animators remembered that.

Here's a youtube link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHT2Kb3YPbw It's 720p btw :)

"One text couldn't hurt." Ya it can Jack!

I think this is the third time SS has interrogated someone in the same room with the same tools. Found it kinda amusing.

I HATE THE PHASE SHIFTER !!!!!!! I THOUGHT WE'RE THROUGH WITH THE GIMMICKS !!!!!! &%* (angry ranting)

and the glorifying Smokescreen ritual is getting annoying.

IF he ever becomes the "Hot Rod = Rodimus Prime" in this universe, I will blow a circuit.

I really wish they made March 22 into a three part movie.

Why hate on Smokescreen? He seems like a standard character that would appear in a series like this.

I don't mind the phase shifter, it harkens back to G1 where different Transformers had different abilities. But I find it cheap that he just got it back "during the confusion on Cybertron". If they're going to come up with an explanation for how they narrowly avoid destruction, they should do it without negating the specific factors they created that made the odds so bad.

the phase shifter was a lost relic for millions of years.

hehe.....I'll explain properly.

I think my real hate is how everyone is a walking caricature (Bb the R2 D2, Arcee the dark one who's opening up, Optimus.......old wise guy....., Smokescreen the guy who ends up biting more than he can chew and has an attitude to go with it, etc)

The phase shifter is pretty much the MacGuffin, and Smokescreen's the guy who will be servant of that Deus Ex Machina device.

G1 ppl never had the ability to walk through walls and stuff ! That kills any potential stories if they decided to slap the thing on Omega Supreme and tell him to take out the Decepticons.

I'd rather have realistic powers. I really don't understand how that X-Men Kitty's powers work.....

Realistic powers? Even the Starship Enterprise once passed through a solid asteroid, by being phase shifted. It's not a new sci-fi concept. I agree that it's cheap how he's managing to use that for everything and can just take anything right from under the Decepticons' noses time and time again. But that's a writing problem, the problem isn't with the existence of the device itself. Anyway, I figure that like the Forge, the Phase Shifter has limited power and probably couldn't be used with just any Transformer.

You're right about the characters being a little too cookie cutter. Mutebee is just a shame.
