Here is the only new mold in the first wave of the Beast Hunters toy line. He is actually really awesome, but simple. I don't mind simple when it leads to something with a lot of character like this one. Despite his few flaws, he is highly recommended.

Even though I grew-up during the Beast era, I never had the chance to own many animal transformers. Lazerback is an amazing toy, if you like animals/dragons or weird looking creature and with a very simple transformation. Then this is the perfect toy for you. Has great legs/hands articulation in both modes, the gimmick doesn't limit it and can look really ferocious.

It has its flaws, the head is stuck in a hunching face down position, you are forced to position that makes the figure look like its sitting down. The tail is molded in one pose and doesn't look good as a whip weapon. The gun weapon looks good on Lazerback in dragon mode, but as a gun just looks weird.

Overall - This is a good start to to the Beast Hunters line, I'm looking forward for more, I don't have Predaking just yet but so far looks decent.

I have to agree with you on the good start. I am still irked by his beast mode head, but otherwise I am a happy customer. I do hope Dr. Wu got wind of my desire for a better tail weapon, not make of rubber.
