I'll begin by saying that I don't now, nor have I ever owned the actual Ultra sized Nightscream. I was neither fond of his character, nor the giant-ass toy Hasbro made. But in my recent quest to complete my BM show characters I found myself lamenting passing up the opportunity to buy this KO 12 years ago when I saw it in a store, until I found it on eBay!

Some KO company took the Ultra sized monstrosity and shrunk it down to a more reasonable size.

The first pic is MOSC. All the writing is Asian except on the left side where I suppose it names the toy line "Beastmen".

The back of the card shows the BW Maximals. If memory serves this same company also make some KO's of them as well. I seem to remember a TM Rattrap, a regular Cheetor, TM Primal, even a Lio Convoy!

In his bat mode is very much like the original. Just glancing at the pic, if I didn't know better I'd think it was a pic of the original.

Since he doesn't actually come with instructions of his own I had to find some online and go by those. He transforms pretty much the same way the Ultra one does, but he's been simplified. He no longer has any bending leg joints except his hips, which are ball jointed, a swivel joint between his upper and lower legs, and a joint that allows you to fold his feet back and forth. Gone also are the extra wing bits that fold out to fill them out more.
He is also missing his disk launcher and electronics. The electronics is an obvious "no-brainer" due to his now smaller size, and frankly I don't miss them. I do wish there had been some way to keep his disk launcher though. Even if it only shot one disk instead of the original 5. But no real big loss.

As you can see he still maintains a high level of detail even at the deluxe size. His head can move side to side and his ears and mouth also move.
Now onto robot mode.

Nightscream looks very much like the official toy with only a few minor colour differences.

The way they have engineered his beast mode ears allows you to have them exposed like the original, or folded under his chest piece giving a more uniform look to his robot mode.
You can also have his wings folded up, like in the pic, or down. I have them down now. One of his hips is kinda loose so the wings help balance him. He can stand well on his own, but I'd just rather not chance him falling and taking other with him.

The only real problems with this figure are due to it's age. The eBay seller referred to it as "vintage KO" since it is 12 years old and the company isn't making them anymore. The plastic quality is fine, not as good as Hasbro or TT, but it doesn't feel cheap, or like it will shatter if played with. Mind you I wouldn't give this to a child to play with.
That said it is showing it's age. The screws and pins all show signs of rust and the seller advised me to loosen the screws a bit due to some reports of excess tightness causing breakage.

He may not have any weapons now, but at least you get a weird little monster!

Here he is with the rest of the BM Maximals. Much nicer looking (IMO) than the gargantuan Ultra one. Sure he's still a little bigger than he should be, but in the BM line, who will notice?

All told I am extremely happy with him as he rounds out my BM show cast and actually fits on my shelf.

I picked that figure up years and years ago at the rockton worlds fair for 2 bucks, he is so much better than the ultra version. I was going to post some pics of mine after the Canadian episode but I havent gotten around to digging in my storage to get him, you saved me alot of effort, lol. I also grabbed the deluxe version of the gorilla primal, the first version of him as a gorilla ...it comes with all the weapons the original figure came with but at a deluxe scale. sweet.

If anyone is interested here is the KO Nightscream (http://www.ebay.com/itm/TRANSFORMERS-KO-DELUXE-SIZED-BEAST-MACHINES-NIGHTSCREAM-NEW-MOC-RARE-/261208373357?pt=US_Action_Figures&hash=item3cd13b786d) on eBay, it's even the same seller that I bought from.

so much better in scale and takes up less room.
iirc, nightscream and cheetor are the only ones that came in this stupendously giant size class.

Yes, but to be fair, Cheetor was that tallest of them all. He kinda did tower over them.
