Shill bidding is when you have one or more other bidders (usally friends or another registered account under a different name) artificialy bumping the price up (they sometimes pull out last min.(bid retraction) and leave you as "the highest bidder" or they will offer the iteam after the auction ends (second chance offer) you used to be able to track where the bidders were from etc,.. but ebays new policy of hiding the bidders info now leaves this practice wide open and it happens quite a bit on that sight now another trick that I don't agree with is the practice of overbidding your max bid early in the auction and then retracting it so the bidder can come back in at auctions end to out bid you as now they know your top bid,... ebay has done nothing to inforce its rules on bid retractions again another reason to look else where for other sites.ebay is not the Happy, safe&fair experiance it once was.
