The more I see of it, the less I want it. I'll stick to my FP Bruticus, but kudos to Hasbro for getting back into the combiner business. Bring out a Classics/Generations Defensor and you'll get my attention.

Well, I liked the concept colours better. This looks a bit more garish and kiddy, which does not surprise me in the least.

Still buying it, of course.

Yeah, I know. The new official Bruticus is closer to G1 than the concept.

But I liked the concept's muted colours better. They were not as saturated or bright, which I thought worked better for the WfC/FoC aesthetic.

Heck, the new official colours are brighter than those in the G1 still.

When I first saw the concept artwork, my enthusiasm for Bruticus was at 10/10

When I saw the close up of Bruticus head and upper body, my enthusiasm score remained 10/10

Seeing the first 3 bots with alt mode, enthusiasm dropped to 8/10

Seeing the last 2 bots with alt mode, enthusiasm dropped to 7/10

Seeing Bruticus combined (Toy Fair pics), enthusiasm dropped to 6/10 (hoped the colors were prototype only)

Now with official pics, enthusiasm for this guy stands at 5/10

Energon combiners were a huge failure IMO, PCC tried something different, but ultimately were no better, so while Generations combiners already look to be a much better try than previous attempts, this is a huge letdown from when I first heard about this toy. :argh:

Why are the colours in this officla photo so completely different from the last set of official overly photoshopped photos we saw? I kind of preferred those colours. Ugh. At this point, I'll just wait for the video reviews to start rolling in.

the colors i kinda understand it as maybe a throwback in some odd colorful way to g2 bruticus,but why the pcc look/combination?
again.....they really need to hire fansproject or some other reputable third party that does their "own" designs to do some actual designing at hastak:(.

don't get me wrong,i can get over the colors,and they're pretty decent in seperate bot modes,but bruticus mode.....yeeeeesh:crying:

The big mistake, from the looks of the photos, is they based the design around the PCC stuff. My hope is that like the energon combiners, we can find some good fan modes and mods to make this thing rock.
