Hey Daniel, Phil and Wendel!

Just listened to your podcast and loved it...in particular the section about Kreo and actually you've got me interested in checking out Blurr Spotlight issue as I typically only read the vintage comics :o

Regarding Kreo--I've been doing a bit of customizing that I wanted to share... :primelaugh:

First, I did a Transforming G1 Prime that is made with two Kreo Kits--the big ~$60 Optimus Prime with the Sentinel Prime kit. I made instructions so all of us can build it this way, check it out:

http://www.cybertron.ca/boards/showthread.php?t=35047 (http://www.cybertron.ca/boards/showthread.php?t=35047)

Also, I've been making custom, non-transforming rescupts of the main characters like Mirage, Prowl, and Sideswipe.

Click here: (scoll down a bit)

http://www.cybertron.ca/boards/showthread.php?t=35656 (http://www.cybertron.ca/boards/showthread.php?t=35656)

As you can see they stay within the confines of the kit but as the wait for new releases increases I'll probably start making unreleased characters and doing a little more aggressive customizing.

Over the holidays I have plans for a BIG project that should put the Prime to shame (still learning about this stuff) that I'll post on the boards.

Again, thanks for the great podcasts...always look forward to them.

All the best,

Steve

I didn't realize that a new Slag was up. Looking forward to giving it a listen. :)

Just finished the part about Kreo. You know what? I think this would be a great way for Hasbro to bring back the cityformers. Huge building block sets would be easier to sell than a giant transformer toy. It would be a great fit, too, what with all the ramps, towers, jail cells and kreon figures to inhabit them and such.

Enjoyed the Blur section of the episode. Do you think that the Generations toy of Blur may take some inspiration from Armada Blur? Armada Blur was a sniper/sharpshooter, if I remember correctly. Could that have been what inspired the sniper rifle for the Generations toy?

In regards to Judd Nelson, I thought he was pretty good in Animated. He's matured and I think that he would be amazing if he came back as an older and wiser Rodimus Prime. He was perfect as Hot Rod back in the day, but now he's much more fitted for Rodimus Prime. :)

That's pretty awesome work you got there Echo, if I can say it's very Kreative. I particular like your Sideswipe :)

You might want to check out this guys Lego TF MOC builds, some great stuff and even a FortMax. I really dig his Galvatron.

^^ Stunning. I have spent some time on those boards and I am amazed. How many flat bricks to those guys buy? Incredible.

Yeah, I'm still kind of newb, but the more practice the better I'll get...I hope... ;-)

I used to mix and match a lot of my LEGO sets back in the day. I still have one of the more interesting creations hanging around. Lightly Transformers inspired by the humans exo suit if I remember right. I'll post up pictures soon.

Awesome stuff Echotransformer/Steve.

I still have to make the Jazz KRE-O...

Finally got a chance to listen.

I was a little late into the game of KREOs, but I'm glad I did. That recent 40% off sale didn't hurt either. :D

While I have no intentions of building the actual Transformer out of the bricks, I am planning on building a base or playset for the Kreons to occupy.

Here's a question for a certain few out there...the collectors who adamantly do not buy any non-transforming Transformers. (ie Action Masters, PVCs, statues, busts, Attacktix, Robot Heroes, etc)

Do you (or would you) collect the Kreons? (and why)

That's awesome!!! Especially that Shackwave.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that RID was the first to repaint a mold but not change their name. Side Burn, Prowl and X-Brawn with their "supermode" repaint.

*ducks*

- I collect the Kreons cause they are super awesome cool and cute and I dig anything with some G1 flavor to it.

- As for the repaint thing, if you wanna be 100% accurate the first repaints without name changes can go as far back as running changes like Grimlock G1 to Grimlock G2, or within G2 itself with the Dinobots coming each in 3 colors. Or in G1, Bumblebee and Cliffjumper coming in yellow AND red........ anyhow I am rambling.

I didn't know you were not a collector of non-transforming TF merchandise.

I didn't include G2, like Universe 1.0, it was a repaint line. I always thought the G1 red Bumblebee and yellow Cliffjumper thing was an error rather than an attempt to sell more toys.

Hey Protoman, while I do agree with the insane number and stupid repaints now available, but what's your opinion of this DOTM repaint? I saw this yesterday at Zellers.
DOTM Megatron (http://tfu.info/2011/Decepticon/TargetMegatron/megatron.htm)
It's not a black Optimus, but yet it can be considered a "Motormaster" or "Prime's Nemesis". At least it's better than the repaint of Titanium Rodimus hahaha.

Don't worry about the rambling, I consider it a feature of Canadian Slag.

I get it all. Animation cels, statues, hell yesterday I bought a collection of japanese decoys.

Also I dig repaints when they make the toy better or when it's a different character. But stuff like Tuner Mudflap or "Night Attack INSERT NAME HERE" in general is pointless.

Nice Episode boys, but there's something important I must point out:

It was not Brian Drummond who voiced Matrix and Graveheart,it was Paul Dobson.

Now,on to other matters:

It's true that people often forget that a voice ages overtime like everything else in the human body,so I did worry at points about certain Voice Actors returning because their voices gradually changed when reprising what they did nearly 30 years ago.

However,I did enjoy Judd Nelson's reprise of Rodimus for Animated (I actually like the rasp he had,I don't know why,but I do).Granted,it's absolutely a nice gesture that Producers,Voice Directors, etc. will bring some of the veterans back, but age does play a factor on how their instruments have changed. Some can be subtle (Ie. Corey Burton/Shockwave),some for the better (Ie.Peter Cullen/Prime) or dramatically (Ie.Judd Nelson/Rodimus)

I hope I misinterpreted, but if you guys say that Sentinel Prime is bland, shame on you :P

Is it traditional/customary in any TF Series to have some odd, even deforming animation gag (Beast Machines feet,Animated chins, etc.)

Still,nicely done guys. :)

i bought the kreos even tho i usually dont buy anything but deluxe and larger... because my aon likes both lego and transformers and it will give us something else to build... with 40% off being much much cheaoer than lego sets even at 30% off i consider it a steal...

i'm also considering getting the halo pelican drop ship from megablock for some extra peices from costco at 39.99
