My thoughts exactly. I have zero desire to visit Texas and even less desire to travel to a Botcon in Texas.

I was in Houston, TX last year. It was actually quite nice.

Good News: This falls on my Birthday! The 28th of April!

Bad News: It's currently on a weekend I'm scheduled to work, and switching shifts is a major pain in the ass.

Looks like a pass on this year again.

I don't know why people are pissin on Texas. It has some of the nicest people for hospitality and some of the greatest food ever to pass a grille. I am an urbanite and not some cow poke but passing up on some friendly positive southern hospitatily. That's crazy. Its a good choice. Closer to home would be ideal though. Driving distance....

Dallas, no. If it were Houston I'd be more into that. Either way though Texas is too far. I have a bad feeling botcon is just lazy and will be in the south more often than not.

Although having it in Texas kinda sucks, the fact that it's in April - a mere 4 months away - is worse. I figure that a lot of people have school or even exams around that time.

I'm going. Booked the hotel, but didn't get all the days we wanted. Hopefully they can extend it for the entire stay. April is definitely earlier than I was expecting. Thats going to be 3 conventions I'm planning to goto within a month, and 5 within 2 months.

Though, with it being in April, I'm going to consider TFCon next year as well. :)

If it is gonna be so quick I wonder what they will crank out as the exclusive this time around. Hopefully something unique. The TFCC repaints for Runabout and Runamuck look cool. I will definetly add them to the collection. I am hoping this years boxed set won't be Animated.

I'm sure they will get more rooms released for this hotel+ find other near by hotels to help out with the hotel bookings. Having said that. I've booked my hotel and may be bringing my family with me as well. :highfive:
