ROBOT MODE

Not much to say here, they're nicely detailed, Megatron got his fusion cannon and Magnus his missile launcher. I would say Megatron looks the best of the 2, he can't be mistaken for anyone else. As for Magnus, his head could have been more Magnus-esque with silver antennas. As it is, his head looks a bit too generic. Nice nod to the G1 toy with the molded chestplate though.

Articulation is the same as previous JB offerings with balljointed legs and arms that can only move up and down. Weapons are detachable.

ALT MODE

Megatron turns into a tank (surprise, surprise) and Magnus into a truck (pretty much Prime-style). While Megatron's alt mode is believable, Magnus' doesn't look anything like the Magnus truck we know. But that's understandable, how do you turn a blue and red robot into a white truck with a trailer? Still acceptable considering the 3rd mode is a bonus. Even though the instructions don't show it, you can peg Megatron's fusion cannon on top of the tank on the backside of forehead flap.

HEAD MODE

That's where the figures truly shine. Both heads are remarkably well sculpted. That's the only HM body I had to demonstrate that feature, so bear with me if you don't find the body appropriate.

SD COMBINED MODE

All in all, fun little figures that don't cost too much.

EDIT: Just realized the arms were installed backwards on Magnus. Here are the correct pictures for robot mode and alt mode.

Can you tell us about the other connectors that came in the boxes?

Smaller connectors allow you to combine 2 JB figures together (SD style); bigger connectors were originally made to give Powermasters Prime the JB Prime head but I guess they decided to give away that connector with all the other JB figures.

thanks for yet another slick review pascal!!!:highfive:

2 points that come to mind seeing your pics.....

the "non"ultramagnus head fits the brave max cerebros's colors pretty good.

the megs looks like with some slight modding and paint, you can have a version of g1 prime which nobody has done before....his very first alt mode ever depicted in marvel comics transformers #1:raisetheroof:

I think the one with Earth Commander allows him to connect to G1 Ultra Magnus's body.

I just checked and there's no hole there, just the rubsign. The head is probably just sitting on the figure in that picture. Colors wouldn't be matching anyways.

I think there is a screw hole there UNDER the rub sign, but I guess you might not want to rip off the rub sign to see it.

I just purchased the Broad Caster head online on a great deal, only $14US including shipping on ebay. I guess that he's less in demand than the other members of his wave, but I'll gladly add him to my third party Autobots for that price.

I got Destruiction Lord today. Paid $11.61 US for him on ebay with shipping.

Just for fun, what happens when you take the Junkion Blacksmith Earth Commander have give him the trailer of Heerotoysmaker Ultra Magnus? It's not pretty.
