Ok, so now that I got him in and put him together, I wasnt gonna let him have the washed out greys etc. So I pulled him apart and glued parts that were essentially once peice and repainted him completly.
Now, the only down side is that this is my first model kit i've built since the 90's. First one was an Evangenllion and Prime makes technically number 2 of model kits i've put together. so needless to say I ran into issues. Thing about cameras is that it is a great way to see what you missed. I did find a few places I need to touch up on and his chest (with windows) aren't exactly aligned. Problem is locking them into place is tuff when you really dont have a place to hold him and push the chest peice in. The one side I glued in just right but the other side I didnt glue well enough (lopsided one) so obviously I need to revisit that and am aware it looks silly in the pics.
But this is about him repainted so here he is alongside ROTF Prime:

You can get a good sense of scale. ROTF is taller and wider but DM looks nicer imo.
