I guess thats cool, my hopes were with Frank Welker this year, cause I'll be at Botcon and I think it would be incredible to meet or even just see Frank Welker! It'll be neat to see what these 2 dudes have to say for themselves before we see what they'll show us of the movie that night.

Somewhere on the Internet, a flame war is errupting.

I do think that love or hate the Bay movies, you have to respect the money and popularity they've pumped into the franchise.

Interesting... Is the dude who made the original in the hall of fame? Because if he isn't shoot Micheal Bay.

It's just way too soon for these guys to get this honor.

I agree with Robimus that it is way too soon. They deserve recognition for helping get Transformers where they are today, but I wouldn't classify them as hall of famers today.

Michael Bay certainly deserves it, he gave life to the franchise. Spielberg, not really.

1.5 billion dollars isn't too shabby.

Quite the other way around really. Spielberg can take far more credit for these movies finally getting made, since it was he who championed the cause with enough weight to get them into development. No movie studio could give two turds about the project until Spielberg showed up.

Michael Bay is just the guy they hired to direct. And let's not forget he didn't even want to. People will have a very difficult time convincing me that these movies wouldn't have been blockbusters without him.

Michael Bay didn't accomplish anything to "revive" Transformers that a decades-old franchise and highly-respected filmmaking icon didn't hand him on a silver platter. Does he deserve a spot? Sure, probably. Ahead of Simon Furman or Frank Welker? Hell no.

Pretty much agree with Robimus... too soon... I would have at least waited til the third movie was out before making such claims. Also like others have said, there are way more deserving candidates for this honor.

My thoughts, too. I don't deny that the Bay movies have brought TF back into the mainstream but we don't even know how DotM will fare. I say wait a few more years before they're considered.

Ha... more like Hall of Shame, shame on Hasbro, there are more deserving candidates.

Agreed...but, I think they should have waited until after DotM to make this decision.
