I usually really like the look of Botcon exclusives, but honestly, I think all of them look terrible so far this year. Maybe it's just that Animated figures don't lend well to being repainted, but I just can't dig any of them so far.

I don't think that photoshopping is helping matters. I don't think he looks bad, but that photoshopped pink does not look good.

I'm liking all them. True, there are elements of each that I'm not overly fond of. But overall each of them look really cool and as a group they look awesome... or I imagine them to look awesome together since I havent actually seen a group shot of them yet.

I'm really looking forward to see what they've done with Motormaster.

And then I'm curious if the rest of the Botcon figures will be Animated or a mix.

Although G1 Wildrider also had horizontal ear-spikes, that robot mode is awful.

Seriously, while the car mode fits (mainly for the colours), that may be the terriblest robot mode I've seen so far.

I was thinking, you know how Drag Strip is in drag? Maybe Wildrider is wild? The new head sculpt has a primitive and feral look to it. That combined with the spikes on him are kind of like a spiked collar you'd see on a "scary" dog look, like a doberman or a rottweiler. His vehicle mode even kinda looks like a dogs head. The black area at the front looks like the nose. And the chainsaw is like the teeth, because that's the business end. It also almost excuses the "limp wrists". He probably drags his knuckles and scratches himself like an ape. Wildrider, the Savage Stunticon.

I don't know. Maybe I'm looking too much into it.

Hasbro did'nt see a reason to fix the mold. So I'm really not surprised the "gimp hands" are still in place.
It's really such a simple mod & only takes about 5 mins.

I think the problem here may be that the Animated figures are just so specific to their character. Wildrider looks really nice, but there's no denying that he looks like Lockdown. I wonder if there will be fiction to explain this if at all?

Wow... i have to say, I am THOROUGHLY underwhelmed by these. Man I was so stoked when I found out it was the stunticons... then they go and bastardize the set. The heads don't even look REMOTELY like their g1 toys. Swindle's head sculpt was great, nicely reflecting his g1 counterpart with some new animated stylings. But these guys are waaaaaaay of the mark. I really don't see the big deal with the new head sculpt.

meh....and they still have not fixed his hands so they can come out completely. The only good looking figure IMO is the Breakdown, the Hot rod retool. This set is such a pass for me.

It's going to be shaped like the Lockdown head because of the way the neck is.

Not bad but not great. I'm on the fence so far. On the one hand I love me some Animated... On the other the execution seems to be lacking a little bit. I know there are limitations with retooling the figures, but some of it seems like it could have been so much better.
