The title was quite deceptive.. until I made sure that nobody died at Fansproject... So now, the speculations... Also.. This would turn out to be a $250+ Modern 5 robot combiner.. interesting.

Looks like a couple of Micromaster throwbacks to me. 'Flameblast' is Fireshot (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Fireshot_%28G1%29) and 'Warcry' is Growl (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Growl) (the pose with the gunbarrel is ripped straight from his Dreamwave bio).

Mmmm, those extra 3 figures should be interesting. It looks like Warcry's weapon combines to become a turret. Red is always a good colour. ;)

OT: I didn't realize this before but I always wondered why Explorer was a two tone shuttle without any cockpit, it turns out it's based on x34 shuttle :doh:

Now that you mention it, you may be right. Swindle and Blastoff look like they have their G2 colours (minus the neon purple camo) to cash in on the G2 Botcon set while the other three silhouettes do look like insectiocons.

Munitioner doesn't seem to have the pegs that plug in the foot anymore... They probably removed the combination capabilities for both figures.

the last three pics that are silohetted may in fact be the "glacial-warrior",if it is,then yes,they combine.

I don't think it will be the Glacialbot. For 1 thing, isn't he supposed to be made up of all pre-historic animal transformers? And 2, the pictures don't match up:

The more I look at these, the more they do look like the Insecticons. CA-03 is Bombshell, CA-04 is Shrapnel, and CA-05 is Kickback. Only thing is why team them up with a couple of random Micromaster homages?

You are correctm which leads me to believe based on the pictures there is no combiner/gesalt.

But it's just very odd to have these 5 together. Why not just do a 2 pack of the repaints and a 3 pack of the "Not-Insecticons"? Why are they in the same group? Or are these just the first 5 in a series? Can we expect a Defender repaint to follow?

I think it would be best if FansProject come out with the Insecticon 3-pack this year/early next year, then a few months later bring out a clone repaint 3-pack of Shithole, Crapper, and Turdmuncher, or whatever their names were. :p

Well, let me put it this way.

If it's not a combiner, I don't know why I would pick up recolors of Munitioner and Explorer. I like them, but not that much.

However, if it is a combiner, I might as well open a bank account just for FansProject.

Yeah, the silhouette dudes are not combiners. And the obvious guess on who they are, is correct.

For Flameblast and Warcry, I was told they would be remolded so they can't combine anymore. Or that was the plan, when I was told months ago. Things can change in that time period.

may have to sell off my 2nd swindle, and get that new one. i liked swindle so much i got the spare and sold off the combinor pieces, but if this one is re-molded, perhaps he now has weapon storage, or something under the rear where the combination port was.

I'm totally up for that, honestly we weren't ever going to get a Growl figure from Hasbro and I missed out on the original figs and would really like those molds, especially since I couldn't justify them the first time since I had no bruticus set, it works great for me and those like me.

So they ARE Insecticons ! Yeahhhhh, I was going to buy the TRU reissue trio, but I think I'm gonna wait and see how these bugs turn out first :)
