I was watching Cirque du Soleil with the wife and this idea popped in my head for some reason. I bought four drifts and and fucked one sword trying to do this.

this one turned out very nicely. For now I'll call him and the sword, Buhawi. Buhawi means tornado in Filipino. Call it a self portrait custom.

That looks great , a very deadly weapon. How firm is the wire and will it snap with repeated use?

That is really cool! So that's a real weapon, eh? I always assumed it was a fictional thing. Kinda embarrassing since I'm big into historical weapons and armor. ;)

no i just gave my sword the name buhawi but closest relative i saw was the urumi which indians had.

the wire is from a twisty tie. lol. so its actually pretty solid. It looks awesome with the waist mod.

Very nice job. It looks like in those pictures you can put it back together? How do you do that?

Also, do you have a "drift waist" tutorial somewhere that I can look at?

waist mod reference: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/320143-give-drift-waist.html

courtesy of autobotx23.

used lego technic pieces to connect each half. used glue to tighten the joints. voila. I used my hobby knife cutter to cut it flush.

the whip does go back together into a sword. Used the first thing that popped in my head as reference: Ivy hence the cut. tried to give it another look so i left a straight horizontal cut in the middle the diagonal cuts.

I removed the plastic from twisty ties to get the metal in it. Pierced holes in each sword piece using a needle. Assemble.
