I cannot believe these stupid fucking parents with their stupid fucking kids. I watched the movie for the 4th time today and this will be the last time I ever watch a movie on a weekend before 6pm. Parents always take their kids for the afternoon weekend showing. So I show up and have to sit in front of these kids who could've been no more than 6 years old at most. 4 of them. They were a family of 4 kids and 6 or 7 adults. I was with my brother and parents. Even before the movie started, I already knew this was not gonna be a 100% good theater experience. Kids all sat on one side and parents all on the other. And the kids kept on getting out of their seat and leaning against ours and putting their hands on the top of our seats to the point that my head can feel their hands. And they kept running back and forth to their parents and wouldn't STFU .And of course you would get the usual chair kicking. And then I spoke to one of the adults and asked him are those your kids? And he said it wasn't his as if it was not his responsibility AT ALL (even though he was part of that family). Then the movie started and the parents did nothing while the kids ran back and forth and had so many freaking bathroom breaks. I turned around several times to tell them to sit down but they just got back up.

If you gonna take your kids, make sure you take responsibility for them. Everyone wants to enjoy the movie and they sure don't want someone runining it for them. That was a fine example of terrible and poor parenting.

Overall the movie was excellent even the 4th time but could've been way better if I hadn't been distracted. No more afternoon showings ever.

I noticed a few of the adult males in that party were too busy gawking and geeking out at the transformations and other money shots to even worry about their kids. Stupid parents.

You would think that you would have to put up with fanboy nonsense and rowdiness on the first few showings but everyone was really well behaved when i saw it those few times and knew when to keep their mouth shut and stay seated throughout the movie. These kids on the other hand didn't give a shit about Transformers, they thought it was just an afternoon out of the house.

To top things off, a kid starting crying on the other side of the theater

I was planning to watch it a second time next weekend. I was thinking of watching the matinee... after reading your post, I'll think that I'll watch the evening one instead.

Dumb kids! Irresponsible parents! Which are worse? Both should be thrown out the theatre!!!

I'm with you. I mostly have trouble with 12-17 year olds myself. Can't stand the constant seat jumping and the flipping open of cell phones. When the Cell is flipped open everyone sitting in your aisle is distracted by the bright light. I know you think your hiding it and that no one else notices, but news flash people!!!!!!!!!EVERYBODY CAN SEE IT.
You know I can almost handle the little kids because I feel they don't know any better(parents should keep them in check though), but these some of these semi-adults should be able to contain themselves. Spending an entire movie talking to your friends and texting people on the other side of the theatre is not why you went to the movie.
I know that not everyone in that age group does this, and those who dont I thank, those who do please smarten up. I've only watched maybe a dozen movies in the theatre this year and at half of them I've had trouble with this demographic.
Rant over, nuff said.

I smell a case for ticket refunds...seriously complain about stuff like that to customer service desk and they'll refund your tickets no probs.

Both my experiences with the movie were good. I don't go to theatres too often, but all I got was a bit of roudiness before it started when I saw it on thursday night downtown (which got silenced by a "you nerds are going to stop being funny in about 10 seconds" as the movie was starting (not me))

yeah!! I can't believe these ass clowns who don't turn off their phones.

It tells you to turn off your phones before the movie. And that includes the following:

1) don't turn it to vibration mode
2) don't answer your freaking phone
3) don't check your phone to check the time (if you are checking time, that means you are bored, and if you're bored, that means you have no enthusiasm for the movie, shouldn't have come so that someone who actually would enjoy the movie could be there)
4) don't send text messages
5) just don't flip your phone at all because of that damn bright light that distracts you from the movie. In one moment you can be so into the movie and not think about a thing in the world but the moment you see that bright light, that moment is robbed from you.

Sheeeesh, poor theater etiquette

Only bad experience I've had at the movies (though I do not go much) was with a royal fatass woman coming into the movie 30 min or so before the ending of it ( who the hell does that?!>. really though?..) & sat next to me & took over half my freakn seat! It was disgusting!!

You know that old joke I'm not racist I hate everyone equally ?... Well for me its true :P I work in retail so stuff like the above does not surprise me and there is no age limit on people doing stupid rude annoying things at all! Be it 5 -88 or older 70% of people tards! :D

& yes it surprises me the amount of electronic cra* the theaters LET people take in with them! When I went to the movie I was talking about above its like everyone EVERYONE had some kind of cell phone or video game type hand held mp3 player type thing... & they wonder why so many movies get ripped & downloaded to the internet the day they are put out or sooner!

No Kidding!! The amount of PSPs and Nintendo DSs I saw was insane and some idiot even brought his laptop only to have it taken away by theater management LOL!!! serves him right. What kinda idiot brings their laptop and actually does homework, surfs the net/porn or uses it while in a theater. The people behind you can easily see what you're doing and to top things off, you're exposing your private stuff to people and asking them to jump you.

And on the topic of 70% of people of retards. That is entirely true. I stand by this statement 100% and that is "there is no excuse for being an asshole". I don't care if you are 300lbs fat woman or a 6 year old kid or an ignorant parent or a guy on a wheelchair, if you act like an asshole, you are still an asshole and thus there is no excuse for being an asshole.

PLEASE EXERCISE GOOD THEATER ETIQUETTE!!

people want to enjoy their movie as much as you do, so please be considerate of others as they will be for you

Try sitting for an hour and a half or two hours before the movie starts with nothing to do, but think about the way your life sucks or something equally distasteful and you'll see why some people bring these things to the movies; especially when they're there early enough to score choice seats.

Seriously; being pissed off at people because they bring something to do before the movie starts is pretty pointless, now if they were playing it during the movie and after every second word of dialogue you heard gun shots/mario jumping or what have you that's a case for reporting to the manager, but if all they're doing is playing a game to pass the time and ignore that stupid little pre-show that's always the same thing before the movie starts then try not to get angry with them. I mean in this day and age is it really that surprising to find people lugging electronic gizmos around with them to the movies?

The movie experience is nothing like it was in the past; nowadays you can eat a pizza or fries in the theatre, I remember a time when you could only eat something special when the old Saint Vital theatre held their annual Christmas Free Showing and gave away Hot Dogs with the popcorn and juice. *Sigh* Man do I feel old and boy do I miss those days; it's getting so bad, I mean no one seems to hang up decorations or lights around Halloween or Christmas any more, it's like they're afraid of being mugged, raped or some shit like that. And the street lights have those Earth friendly bulbs now dulling the lights; it used to be bright out at night and... Hell I'm going nostalgic mode; where was I?

Oh yeah; don't get mad at people for just being people, unless they're frakin' phoning people during the film or playing their games during the film, no way in hell I'd stress myself out over this kind of thing happening before the movie.

The kids in my theatre were really well behaved, they couldn't be older than six and they only spoke once in whisper:

Younger kid: "Who's the yellow car?"

Older kid kid: "That's Bumblebee"

Younger kid: "Oh, okay"

Un-fortunatly, the guy behind me kept kicking my chair. Fucker. But he only did it like three times. Everybody was too busy whatching the movie.

Its weird because those ass clowns who kick your air aren't actually kicking your chair, they're actually putting their feet up on your chair but what they don't realize is the person sitting on the chair feels like it is being kicked when they take their feet on and off it cuz it moves it. I HATE IT WHEN PEOPLE DO THAT. If they do it enough times, I just turn around and politely tell them to stop it because they would feel the same way if I had done it to them.

Speaking of food in the theaters, the Silvercity in Riverport no longer has a Pizza Hut. Its changed to something called Pizza Pizza (not associated with Little Caesars Pizza, as far as I know) and they don't sell personal pan pizzas any more because that is a product of Pizza Hut. Anyways, they sell pizza by the slice and WORST YET, whole freaking PIZZAS!!!! So if you sit behind or in front of a big group (usually its a big group who orders a whole pizza), they are passing the pizza left to right across the aisle and that smell (its actually pretty good) distracts you from the movie and makes you hungry!!!

Thankfully the passing of pizza back and forth usually takes place before the movie starts.

Speaking of food. I really don't like the smell of pop-corn, maybe I am weird. I usually switch seat with my friend or my brother if someone next to me eating pop-corn. Some people play DS, PSP and phone games while watching movie. They should ban people from bringing PSP and DS.

Now I know this might sound but I had a similar problem on my 2nd viewing at Cote Des Neige Plaza in Montreal. 2 kids behind me (must be ages 3-7) were behind me with their non-caring parents. Their excessive talking hit my boiling peak when the "Bumblebee signal" scene came. I turned around and said (Pardon my french) "If you don't get your fucken kids to shut up I will beat the shit out of them" (Yes yes, I threaten to beat up little children but I don't care, when it comes to Transformers.... you just don't fuck with me). Of course the 2 little meak parents FINALLY told the children to be quiet as if they were not aware of their own loudness.....

see, i tend to preview movies at home and then decide if its worth the hastle to go to the theaters to see it. i'll watch it for like 10 to 15 minutes, and if it piques my interest, i'll either wait for the real dvd or go see it in theaters. if the movie's blah, i'll watch it to the end and not bother with it again. if its bad or doesnt catch my interest at all, i just dont bother watching the rest of it. i still have no idea what happens later on in 8 legged freaks.

i dont like theaters. i dont like the seats, i dont like the restrictions on snacking, i dont like missing parts that i've paid for to have to use the facilities. at home i can pause it and stuff. i dont like having to pay such a high price to be able to see the movie only ONCE, and i especially dont like having to deal with the other people in the theater.

that being said, the experiences i've had are nowhere near as bad as i've seen on some of the screener movies, what with people yelling obscenities at the movie's characters and throwing stuff at the screen (not just isolated people, but pretty much the entire theater).

there are, however, some times that i can tollerate that stuff. i once went to a showing of happy feet with my fiance, and almost the entire theater was filled with 3 to 8 year olds. i know, its a kids movie. and they were up and running around, dancing in their seats, talking, singing, etc.

that was a kids movie, and all of that was to be expected from the audience that was there. plus, it made the whole experience a little more funny and entertaining. lol. and on the plus side nobody seemed to be grabbing or kicking seats and the parents werent letting their kids go completely nuts. they were also kind enough to leave the theater if their kids started screaming or crying.

so for certain things i'm inclined to give a little leeway, but not too often.

i still dont like theaters, for the most part i'd just rather wait for the dvd. after 2 or 3 viewings, even at the gouging initial release prices its still paid for itself compared to going to the theater.

I actually enjoyed Transformers the most at Botcon, when the crowd got into it to the point of cheering at peak moments. :D

Personally believe there is positive crowd noise and negative crowd noise. In the case of electronics during the film, kicking seats, or answering phonecalls (?!) that's negative.

Positive crowd noises, I don't mind at all. That includes laughing, cheering, clapping etc. I feel just as enthusiastic as they are but the negative stuff needs to be put down. I love going in a crowded theater with enthusiastic fans. It shows that everyone has the same interest and want a positive viewing experience as much as others. As for those kids sitting behind me, they didn't care obviously. And the parents were way too focussed on the movie to even be concerned about their kids.

Good point! I agree.

In fact, my gf recently bought a white Nintendo DS Lite for $ 149.99 at Walmart recently because she saw so many people playing with their DS Lites at the theatre waiting for the movie to start.

However, I also agree that the dickhead who brought the computer laptop was a freakin idiot.

Treading off-topic, but this is one of the most flagrant "WTF are you doing" moments I've seen someone engage in at a movie theatre:

Fellow sits down with a -case of Coke- and a -huge bag of Kentucky Fried Chicken-. Now, nobody seemed to say anything to him at first.

Then he starts cracking open colas and eating out of a giant cardboard bucket. While an usher walks by.

Best part- the idiot flipped out when he was asked to leave the enormous meal outside. :D

Its like Optimus Prime said, "Were we so different? They're a young race, they've got much to learn, but I've seen goodness in them."

Like it or not, kids are going to be kids (and people are going to be people), at a theatre or anywhere else. Threatening to tear the throat out of someone talking behind you is a little much. You can turn around and tell them to please be quiet, but they dont necessarily have to listen to you. You can call an usher, that usually solves the problem.

Yep, you paid money to see a movie. Yes, you might feel that they're damaging your experience. But its a public place, there's no law against not talking, and like it or not, people are going to be great all the time. And as for the kid crying, that's what kids do. He might have been scared by the movie, and yes, his parents probably should have taken him outside, but unfortunately, that's their call. I completely agree with you about the requirement of licenses to breed, but it'll be a cold day in hell before that happens, so unfortunately, you'll have to learn to deal with it.

You went to an early evening show. With a movie like this, there's bound to be kids. At a later show, you could be complaining about punk teenagers with no respect instead. Its the nature of going to the movies. The best thing to do is just move on. At the very least, its unlikely you missed an important part of the movie, since you've seen it multiple times.

Remember one more thing, though. Those kids are the future of the fandom, and they're the ones who are going to have the toys bought for them (hopefully), thus supporting the franchise. Call me crazy, but I'd be willing to have my seat kicked a couple times so that a kid can have good memories about the transformers movie.

A case of coke is just bad...he can get diabetes in no time. Sorry for being off topic. Are we allow to bring outside food when watching movie by the ways? small snacks and pop are what I normally see people bring in and truth be told I don't blame people for it theater prices are stupid expensive if the would lower there prices by about half what they are people would see less of that...

& man it happened again! about an hour of the movie left and some guy comes into the theater & sits over 3 seats beside me (at least, not right beside me like the uber fat woman the last time :S) I wouldn't give a rats ass but the drugie freak (I am sure) would not sit the hell still!! HOnestly worse than a lil kid! he kept waving his hands around or straching him self someplace or tapping his arm or something not quite sure what he wasdoing :S I guess I finaly glared enough at him that he stoped... I was sooo close to yelling at him it wasn't funny :S

Worse yet he was a cougher too I hate that :S I Know it can't be helped sometimes but its annoying when they are right beside you...

The only good thing out of this is around the end of the movie the guy had his change start to fall out of his pocket so he would bend over to pick it up and more change would fall out which just pissed him off and made me out right laugh freakn moron LOL!

I just don't get my luck with people coming into the movie with for the last hour or half hour :S really?... what is up with that?! Next time I'm complaining to someone cause I'm sure these $#(&s don't have tickets on them
