Heerotoymaker WST Magnuses and Prime trailer

I just got mine from Heerotoymaker.

I contacted him directly and got:

2x Powered Convoys
1x Shining Magnus
1x G1 Ultra Magnus
1x Optimus Prime

Here are my two WST Primes. Real takara and a Heerotoymaker (HMT) Battle Convoy version. (I added the battle trailer to my battle convoy) the version I got was just a regular G1 Prime from HTM.

Biggest difference is a G1 accurate repair pod and roller launcher. The launcher is vestigial and doesnt move but it is nice that it is there. Also HTM modified the Prime gun with an actual post and drilled holes into the first to hold the new Prime gun.

Roller also has a hole drilled to hold the Prime gun.

Here is my HTM UM. I got the "Jizaitoys" WST UM before Jizaitoys sold them at Wonderfest. I got them direct from the actual maker. Jizaitoys did NOT make these. Someone else did. I bought mine from him.

When I got my Nanoscale City Commander I asked for a Diaclone Powered Convoy version as well. I only paid $60 each for them. Im SOOO glad I didnt pay the ridiculous prices like others have. Back in 08 botcon, Hydra was selling an original (different packaging than mine) for $500!!!!

Anyway here is the HTM Powered Convoy vs the Nanoscale Powered convoy vs my Diaclone Powered Convoy.

Here is the Jizai version and HTM version. The Jizai version has fist that retract. I prefer that feature compared to the HTM version. The HTM version is more accurate with removable fists,but Im so paranoid i might lose them.

You can see the difference in the gun. the jizai uses the same square bracket like on WSTF G1 Prime gun. HTM gun is more like Diaclone Powered convoy and has a peg with a hole in the fist to hold the gun.

One major mold change between the Shining and Powered vs Ultra Magnus, is the thinner ridge on the Diaclone plane. the UM chestpiece ridge is too wide for the UM helmet to fit ontop. However HTM revised the mold and made the ridge thin enough to fit in the helmet.

One nice feature of the Jizai Powered Convoy is that the flaps are similar to G1/Diaclone design. they fold in/out and support the arms in trailer mode.

Just like the original Powered Convoy, the trailer hitch plugs into the trailer for Convoy to pull the trailer.

For a hand sculpted piece, the Resin Powered Convoy is fantastic. However HTM blows it out of the water. He must have used CAD to create this.

HTM changed the UM design and IMHO they are great improvements. There are tabs on the arms that plug into the leg sides in trailer mode.

Here are the leg locking tabs. They lock the legs in both armor and trailer mode. Great way of locking them in place.

One thing I noticed. The sculpt on the WST Powered Convoy head is a little off. Take a look at the face. It is not as tall as the real thing.

One thing that the WST cant do. have Diaclone pilots look out the cockpit window. Remember your roots TF fans. there were little people that drove these machines.

Here is the HTM Shining Magnus compared to my Takara Shining Magnus. Sadly I do not have the Shining Magnus cab. I bought this off a guy who only wanted the variant prime and did not want the trailer/armor. So I added my KO Clear Prime to match the transparency.

It is kind of hard to see but the HTM Shining Magnus clear yellow is not the same shade as the Takara Shining Magnus.
Takara looks like Gatorade yellow. Whereas HTM looks like urine when you havent had any water all day.

I know. But before HTM showed up, the Jizaitoys UM was the shiznit!!!

(remember im only calling it that for easy reference, Jizait toys did NOT make the WST UM he just got the license and sold them at WF)

Also the Jizaitoys is hand sculpted. VERY good for something so tiny.

Not only is this a fantastic review, but I'm truely impressed by your WST collection. Would you be willing to do a review on Springer, Wheelie and Arcee? Are those even available any more? Secondary prices must be off the charts...

The other rare WST I once saw was Tracks...I thought HTM was making those...do you have one or know about its fate?

sorry, the tracks is made by some one else. I cant confirm but i dont think the tracks are injection molded plastic like HTM's stuff.

Got my Prime with trailer yesterday and opened it up, very nice! I have a question though, in the bottom of the shipping box was a large sticker stuck to the inside of the box. It had both Optimus trailer designs on it and also the Pepsi logo designs but:
a) weren't cut out at all
b) did I mention it was just stuck to the inside of the box?

Am I supposed to peel this off and cut it out and stick it to the trailer?

Probably just a mistake. If the decals werent in a plastic bag then they just got stuck there.

My decals were all individually bagged.

Thats how he seals the boxes. He doesnt use regular tape he uses his sticker sheets. All my KO Seekers and Glow in the dark KOs were like that.

Ya ya, that's the same sheet he used for mine. Is Prime supposed to come with stickers? Mine had nothing but the figure inside the plastic casing.

I bought 4xmagnuses and 1x prime. I got 4 magnus decals and a set of "prime" decals. They have a bunch of mini rub signs. Non functioning. They look green as if activated. As well as a wide range of window decals. So i can change the color of prime's windows.

Total for 4 magnuses and 1 prime was $115 shipped. Not bad.

Heero also made the glow-in-the-dark version of UM and Prime.
It's exactly like the rest but If you leave it under a light or at the window catching the daylight then it glows really well.
Check out the pics. The dark ones arent the best but you can see the effect.
