Today, I officially spent more than $50 filling up my Honda Civic! Yay!

$50.55 for around 40L of gas. This is a great country... isn't it!

I drive a GMC Safari....she took $90 yesterday but I like to think of it as dating a hot drunk chick, cost a lot to keep her happy with liquids but she gets the job done.

My Honda Civic SiR takes premium, so I have to buy the expensive, "cleaner burning" stuff or else risk going through oxygen sensors at $400 a piece plus labour. It's a pain to have to buy 91 but the car runs better than on 89. Oh well, they're high prices all the way around.

Q. What is a "Zombie Thread"?
A "Zombie thread" is any thread that has not had posts in some time, usually a year old or older, that has a post that brings it back to the top of the forum. We usually frown upon the practice of bringing back old threads unless there is new information to be added

So what new and exciting information was added here?

That despite our recession, gas prices continue to go up,coming to the conclusion that in the past couple of years, the businesses controlling the oil still hasn't learned a damn thing and to actually price their gases according to the prices per barrel.Because of this, greed and corruption is still continuing within our super-powered countries, and although we civilians know this, the best we've done is to complain about the return of high gas prices, which results in reviving this Thread into a Zombie Thread, just to Post the same complaints we had in these past couple of years.

What I find quite strange is that the cost of gas at the pumps is like 30 cents less than when it was close to its peak, and yet crude oil is more or less the same price it was back then. Why were we getting ripped off at the pumps? The excuses they were giving just didn't make any sense.

I also find it interesting that in the past few years production itself has been cut back time and time again to artificially keep crude somewhere between $60 and $70.

On top of all of this, I'm surprised that oil companies haven't used this BP oil leak in the gulf as an excuse to raise the price of crude or the price of gas. Time was not that long ago that any excuse at all would justify a hike in the cost to the consumer.

I think its about time we switch the infrastructure support over to something less volatile and much more efficient. We'll have to do that anyways if we ever want to colonize Luna or Mars as serious ventures.
