I don't know about you bots, but I feel that making the old minibots in to scout class figures makes more sense than turning them into ultra class figures...maybe do a line of in the style of animated activators. The figure does look great though and he would look even better in his G1 colours.

I found this pic online, don't know who did this custom but its awesome. props to the customizer whoever
he/she is. This is what I was talking about, minibots make better scout class than ultra. take note hasbro, a little retooling and bam great figure.

When I first heard about this figure I had my doubts, but after actually seeing it I may be tempted to pick this one up

Is it just me, or is this figure tossing out an animated vibe? Huge, gauntleted muscular forarms, bold, action figurey body, jeeze, all he needs is a chin!

I like it! Like Ultra Maverick, I was hesitent at first when I heard about this, but now it is like The Krammer, I can't look away. :p

Looks cool. Doesn't look like you can fit many Scouts on him though. 2 max?

*sigh* Why must all the good stuff be out when i'm saving money?

I wonder when this add-on line type deal releases.

He'll look great with Classics Powerglide! I Can't wait to get this guy. :D

Still looks way too blocky. Looks like an Armada toy, or something from the latter years of G1 - after they'd started going whole-hog with the safety-neutering and making everything out of cheap plastic but before they discovered balljoints. Pass.

Alt. mode looks good to me. I really don't like the looks of the bot mode though as to me it looks nothing like Seapray. Even the colours are weird...bahhhhhhhhh.

Is this not a Universe release? The RotF packaging bothers me.

I'm sure this is another case of Universe/Classics figures that were put into the movie line. This new packaging looks like it may be a catch-all line similar to Universe, and that's fine with me.:)

I'll have to see this in person, but I'm thinking I'll probably get him.

Anyone think there will be a "g1 accurate exclusive repaint" a la powerglide?

Easy pass.

Does this mean you won't get Seaspray or were you just singing part of the awesome "System Crash" song? :D

I believe all new TFs releasing in the fall this year will all have the same type of packaging whether it's movie realated or not.

I don't get the comments about wanting a G1 accurate paint job. This Seaspray is already blue, white and yellow(ish), so am I missing something?

I guess I remebered him being more blue, but after consulting pictures, you're right, the paint job does look pretty g1...

Does everything have to look G1? So if it doesn't look like G1, it isn't a good toy? I am just curious about some of those comments from the people here. I need a better photo through before I decide to buy it or not.

No, not everything has to be "G1". Just because it's not G1 doesn't mean it's not a good toy, but it does mean I'm unlikely to buy it.

I don't collect the movie line, I never got onboard the whole A/E/C lines, or RID, and I only bought a few beast wars toys that I thought had good play value back in the day. I don't collect the G2 line.

I'm a g1 collector who has branched out into classics/universe only because of their g1 connection. So for me, yes, I like a g1 vibe or some kind of connection with the toy, and if it doesn't have it, I'm not likely to buy it.

This doesn't mean everything else is a "bad toy" or inferior. I don't complain when they make new lines that have no connection to G1 because it saves me money. Nor do I think that hasbro should connect everything to g1 all the time. But I do enjoy when they do things like Seaspray.

Hope that explains my position for you.

Well, if you're gonna modernize a rather doofy looking character from G1, this is how you'd go about it.

I'm gonna sit on the fence for a bit longer though, 'til we see more out of box pics before I make a buy/not buy decision. (Seems brick-ish right now, but, I'm sure he's more dynamic than he appears.)

While I'm too young to understand G1, This seaspray has that Cybertron vibe, with the somewhat predictable limb formation and blocky-ness. Will probably wait until clearer pictures to determine if he's a "buy" or not.

Agree *2.
The buying point for the Sea Spray is its feature. "features interactivity with scout figures, acting as a transport."
I do not know if some people just look at the picture only without looking at the description.

Well, most of us were influenced by G1 and the early style setting. But if the Sea Spray acts as a transport and can somehow combine with the scout class it is reasonable to be bulky and bigger.

"The figure features a special and rather unique function. He can carry scout sized figurse"

I can't hack the under arm cannon. Its the only thing I hate about Inferno. I mean you can't even take it off! I'd forgive it if it was huge, but its this dinky little water cannon, under his arm. And this guy is packing 2 of them.
