There are subtle custom repaints, and then there are not so subtle custom repaints.

Guess how I'd classify this gold chromed '07 Deluxe Premium Bumblebee (http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?&customid=cybertron&toolid=10001&campid=5335815859&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.ca%2Fws%2FeBayISAPI.dll %3FViewItem%26item%3D260464076658%26ru%3Dhttp%253A %252F%252Fshop.ebay.ca%253A80%252F%253F_from%253DR 40%2526_trksid%253Dp4712.m38.l1313%2526_nkw%253D26 0464076658%2526_sacat%253DSee-All-Categories%2526_fvi%253D1%26_rdc%3D1).

I'm betting there are no alt mode pictures since you can't really convert this guy safely anymore.

I've been thinking and frankly I'm amazed that BB looks uniformly chromed.

How would they have achieved this? Can you simply dip a toy into chrome and let it dry or do you paint the chrome on?

I'll be trying it out with my dinobot (chrome) with a spray can. I don't think I'm going to get the same effect... maybe I should do a gold leaf effect... hahaha

That BB looks sweet but I would have gone with chrome not gold.

search on tfw for bombatron's customs, he explains in one of them (before he started vacuum plating them) how to do it with a certain kind of spray paint

Vacuum metalizing. Makes some real spiffy looking figures. If you don't have access to the equipment, it's quite expensive to get done. I know if I had one I would have lucky draw everything!

My eyes!!!!!! The goggles do nothing!

is that by chance a referance to the you tube video's "is it a good idea to microwave this?"
