With the online stores getting them and this seller have 10, I wonder how "limited" he realy is

500 as stated.

Well considering how he has a big ol' disclaimer saying that it will ship after the 27th, it's safe to say we'll see the buyer pick them up from TFCon.

500 is the official release numbers from the supplier. No more then that for other events or online retailers.

So ya, it's still actually limited.

Is the user allowed to do this?

is this kinda like how some people steal the botcon exclusives then sell them on ebay for crazy amounts?(or nothing like that?)i thought that ebay was like the sales thread here where you cant advertise/sell stuff unless you actually have it in hand?

These aren't stolen, the seller will be purchasing the item at the show like everyone else.

Chansformer: not necessarily, I've preordered the SDCC Alternators Rodimus before. I don't know if SDCC staff care of not, but since TFcon staff are aware of this, they may have the power to stop this, if they believe this shouldn't be done.

Hehe, this is more of a pre-order auction.

I think TFCon is looking to sell all 500 copies at the show so if this guy is a private/non-tfcon related person I think TFCon is good with it as it will encourage more being sold at the show.

My question coming from that however is what if this guy shows up and wants to buy say 200 copies right at the beginning of the show?

200 x $150 = $30,000 That's mucho loco

No one is willing to take that kind of risk on toys.

I think there will be enough to go around and those who really want one will be able to get one.

I know this happens at all conventions, but doesn't having people scalp Exclusives before the show defeat the purpose of having Exclusives, to attract people to attend the show.

I don't see how that makes people not want to go to the show. If anything it makes people that were on the fence think that they should attend and get the toy as it's going to be valuable.

So they can scalp it later? :)

Exactly. People have been doing it with the BotCon toys for years. Now it's Canada's turn.

In all seriousness though I don't see that someone having a preorder for something is going to take away from people wanting to go to the show to add the toy to their collection.

I think onecoin believes some people might not go because they think their chances of getting a Powered Commander at the show would be low because of all the units already secured by scalpers.

$250! .!. THAT'S IT?!!?! Come on! It's way more awesome than that!

Well, people had a chance to prereg and reserve the toy and it's not sold out yet so there is no reason to think that because one person is selling on Ebay.

One thing is for sure, you have a better chance of getting the Power Commander cheaper at the show then on ebay later.

no takers yet.....

....TBH, I wonder if the set will even sell with a markup price on places like ebay at all. Maybe its all just hype. Who knows, maybe they won't even sell out at TFcon. Hmmmm......

Who knows, a lot of exclusives don't get sold out at the show and Hasbro has to sell it off their website after. Then again, 500<<<< 2000 and it's by a third party company.

let's not forget the Fanproject has sponsors to give its Financial supports from BBTS and the store in Richmond. If the store has connection like TFsource with BBTS, it is still possible for TFsource to get some exclusive but not with wholesale price.
The seller on ebay is just use presale method to make sure that he list the items first on ebay. Only after the TFcons that people can not get there Powered Commander in the TFcons will make this price work.
