Here's a recent custom of mine, an oldie, but goodie (one of my favorite TFTM figures)
I removed all factory paints, and cleaned him all nice and good. Removed the stiff plain hands and added new articulated hands from a gundam. I have some stuff called "Plasticote" which is a paint on rubber for tool handles, which came in hand to get the ball joints on the gundam hands big enough and tight enough inside their sockets of the forearms.
Another cool addition to this guy was the request to make interchangeable faces. The back 3/4 of the head remains permanent on the ball joint, and the 2 faces were hollowed out. On the back of each face is a thin small magnet. They can quickly be swapped out.
The racing stripes were painted using some nice Tamiya lining tape. He was primed with Krylon Fusion yellow mixed with a drop of red. I base coated him in Testor's "Amber Yellow" metallic through the air brush, then clear coated him in an iridescent yellow gloss lacquer. The faces were a challenge yet, I am quite please how detailed they came out, this is an EXCELLENT figure to paint.
On a final note, I will be adding Alt mode pics later this week, once the clear coat is cured.
