Bay doesn't even need to release misinformation, just saying he's releasing it is enough to have everyone questioning everything.

Also I doubt they will change the name of Megatron, if your not a big Transformers fan they you just wouldn't get it. Plus Optimus facing off against Galvatron doesn't quite have the same ring as Megatron.

As long as they integrate the name change into the movie and the reasons for it everyone would get it. It made sense in the '86 movie, so as long as it's written right it would make sense now.
